Question regarding Job-System

Greetings,

I am new to the Final Fantasy MMO Series and I have not found specific information for the Job-System in FF14ARR.

If I was going to play a Bard but did not pick Archer at Character Creation but Pugilist, how can I still become a Bard? Will I just have to level my Pugilist to Level 15 and then I can switch or what exactly should I do best in this case (creating a new character is not an option, the server problems do not allow me to do so).

If you picked Pugilist you can still become a Bard.

Paladin, requires Gladiator level 30 and Conjurer level 15.

Dragoon, requires Lancer level 30 and Marauder level 15.

Monk, requires Pugilist level 30 and Lancer level 15.

Bard, requires Archer level 30 and Pugilist level 15.

Warrior, requires Marauder level 30 and Gladiator level 15.

White Mage, requires Conjurer level 30 and Arcanist level 15.

Black Mage, requires Thaumaturge level 30 and Archer level 15.

Summoner, requires Arcanist level 30 and Thaumaturge level 15.

Scholar, requires Arcanist level 30 and Conjurer level 15.

Level 10 is the minimum to switch, actually. You just have to do the associated class quest from your guild, and then it will say "Armory System Unlocked".
However, you don't get an airship to Gridania to pick up archer until finishing your level 15 storyline quest. You may have to walk there. It's a 12 minute run and actually quite scenic.

You don't have to make a new character. You need a Level 30 Archer and a Level 15 Pugilist to be able to unlock the Bard. What I would do is keep leveling your Pugilist and following the story quests, until you receive the airship pass. This will eventually take you straight to Gridania where you can then multiclass as an Archer. Once you reach Level 30 as an Archer, you'll eventually stumble on the quest that will unlock Bard.

Wow, so many responses in such a short amount of time
Thanks for the info on which Job needs which classes but this was the part I knew about
So on lvl 15 I can "fly" to a different place and from there on it will be no problem to play the other class (that is how I understood the answers). Well then, time to level that Pugilist and thanks for the help!

There is no 3rd class, you only need 2 classes now they scrapped the 3rd completely
