New To MMO's....Highly Disappointing

I wouldn't want to launch a game a second time and have people upset...a second time. That's whack and they need to fix this quick.

Dont forget the horrible AOC launch .....a week of not able to log in from characters being in limbo or accts messed up or just the 8hour to 18 hour server crashes....and to make it worse instead of fixing it they added nipples as prioty over stability.....yeah this is bad but not worst imho

This isn't as bad as the notorious Failed launches of some games. But it certainly ranks right up there with them. Not because servers were over loaded. This always happens and that is true. The failure part is completely on SE and their lack of implementing any of the absolutely BASIC systems to alleviate player frustration and have some form of population control. Instead they choose to basically say, hey at least the ones who get in and stay in will have our back, screw the rest. I also love how all the people talking crap about people complaining usually come off with "well I've been able to play every time I wanted to," well good job, your awesome and completely missing the point of why so many people are upset. So just stfu already. Some people have been unfortunate to the point where they haven't been able to really play at all, with spending hours in front of a screen spamming "confirm." This is why this is a fail launch and this treatment is why people are truly upset. If people can't wrap their heads around that then I feel sorry for them. To those who are upset? Please, complain away and let your frustrations out and I hope your still here when things finally smooth over.

I've never actually played an MMO like this before (never had the PC capable of playing one) but I like FF and when I saw that this would be available for the PS3, I was ecstatic. I got into the Beta and loved the game, actually went through withdrawals from not playing. Lol. I had a lot of fun didn't know anyone or have a community presence but it was still a great time. Fast forward to launch time, I can't play with any of my characters and can't even make a new one. As someone who's new to MMO's, it's like a child waking up on Christmas and finding no toys from Santa.

I know you seasoned players think that everyone is being a whiny little baby and feeling entitled, but it really kind of sucks that I was so happy to finally be included in a game like this just to have the rug pulled out from under me.

Don't give up hope yet. This is a very good game when or if you can ever get into it, I only have maybe 7hrs played since early access but made it to the first dungeon and was a lot of fun. Sadly I have been plagued with 1017's since last Wednesday and haven't seen play time since. Give it a few more days they have a fix coming tomorrow or Wednesday to resolve most of this, I am personally giving it till Friday, if I am still unable to login and play by Friday evening then I feel this game is a lost cause for the time being and be best to get the refund and come back in a few months when things are in a more playable condition.

Being new to MMO this response is certainly understandable. I would give it some time, maybe pick up another game and come back in a few days when these fixes go in. Hope you stick with it

It sure stinks like haughty undeserved moral high ground in here. I think there's also a side odor of not knowing what the word "entitled" actually means. You people are the actual worst. Saying "I'm so mature and everyone else is just a baby" is literally the most obnoxious thing I've seen on this board, because you're being just as whiny and pedantic as the people you're putting down. What are you, 12? On both sides, the inability to put yourself in another person's shoes is the true sign of a lack of maturity, and you high and mighty "go outside" people are the worst ones out of all of them.

I fully recognize that I'm being a whiny baby all over these forums, but my head isn't so far up my ass as to think I'm better or worse than anyone else for it.

OP, don't listen to these nerds. Not every MMO launches like this. However, no MMO is created equal, and not every MMO is good. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide how you feel about what's happening now and also decide later how you feel after everything is calmed down (or not) after a few weeks. With an MMO, you're in it for the long haul, unless you bail out very early.
