not just thousands players my friend. They sold out 1.2 million copies of game a week before it launched and still insisted expecting 300,000 players (25%) to log in during launch. They have been robbing 75% customer of at least an amount of 30 million dollars with worry free. Game industry has no obligation or law enforcement so no one will be in trouble for what in another other industry will be called public fraud.

Its unfortunate that SE dropped the ball on launch but they are working on it and compensating people appropriately. So why the hate ?

If it really works you up this much then you should never play a new mmo at launch. Wait 3 months and then come back ...or not.... Who cares

Well Square Enix I have been a defender and patient of you and FFXIV however how much can a customer take. I do not need to list the issues, thousands of players know what they are. I am not angry just lost interest and tired of being frustrated. Good luck you will need it. To bad you potentially had a great game on your hands but the word is out. It is sad I am a legacy, pre-order, collector's edition player and I now regret my decisions. Blizzard will continue to get my business.

How come people who say these things never actually leave? And if they are so done why spend times on the forums of a game they don't play? If i was done I'd find a new game AND a new forum to post on, makes more sense I think.

Add an AFK Timer and most of the issues will be gone. Also Add a login queue of at least 1000 players possible and every single issue will be removed. I dislike the 1017 error, but if Every time I logged in I got a login queue I at least have an Idea of how long it will take.

I can alt-tab and do other things while waiting for it to finish (obviously having sound on while out of window so you will hear it log you in).

To indicate that you are going to leave before they attempt to implement a singular fix is short sighted. Honestly IMO going the new server route is short sighted and takes to long to implement. They didn't have new servers sitting around, and had to place an emergency order with whoever they use (Dell, HP, IBM... or what ever company). And those take time, Also most likely each server is not a single server, but a cluster of multiple for load balancing and the like. I remember reading in the future patch notes that there will be updates done to the server as well, but SE hasn't indicated what those are going to be for. (tried to look for the note but can't find it now like a goober)

Ultimately, To leave at this point is to soon. At least wait for the "fix" to see if it works, I just hope they open up character makes on Exodus soon so my wife can make a character on my server and I can finally start leveling my main class.

And with all that server clustering ect, there's a TON of work to be done to add servers to the list (like SE said preparing the new servers for use... Its not a simple task)

It is hard to believe they will ever get them ironed out. How long do we have to wait. I have been in dozens of mmos launches since 1996 with Meridian 59 and this is the worst. Good game but all these issues have tainted the game for thousands of patient players. With Wildstar and Elder Scrolls not far off SE had this moment to get it together and they dropped the ball.

Yeah just by you saying that I can not believe that you have been in "dozens of mmo launches." Your wonderful WOW that your running back to was 10x worst than this. Least in FF people actually get to play, in WOW server crashed and where down for hours making it unplayable first two weeks. Lets look at Vanguard as well, so much stuff was broken in that game, Age of Conan, I could go on but you get the picture. Your full of it saying you have been in dozen and calling this worst.

I am not a WOW faboi, I have no special love for WOW ( a great mmo) it just happens to be the game I was playing when FFXIV came out. Get the picture? I was in everyone of the mentioned launches all had problems, none denied so many players of game play as this one for so long. We must also take into consideration that this is now 2013 not 2005 as with the launch of WOW. It is hard to believe companies like SE have not learned anything. A company like Trion with far less resources had a very smooth launch as did Turbine with LOTRO, SWTOR was a great launch, Secret World also had a smooth launch. Both GW and GW2 had great launches. Many recent launches went very smooth, that does not mean the game was great we are talking about the launch mechanics and access to the game at launch.

I have been in more launches then you have probably played mmos. Vanguard, WOW, EQ, EQ2, Asheron's Call, SWG, AOC, Anarchy online, CoH/CoV, DAOC, Defiance, Priston Tale, Silkroad, STO, Tera, Secret World, SWTOR, Free Realms, Rift, ROSE, Rappelz, RF Online, Neverwinter, LOTRO, GW, GW2, DDO, DC Universe, I am sure I left many more out. You see mmos are more then a hobby for me. I follow them, their companies, and the business of mmos. I go to E3, pax and have been lucky enough to go to the Tokyo Game Show. I teach computer art at a college with a game simulation program, I am in the art department not the game program, but two classes I teach are required by the game simulation students. That does not make me a game expert but it shows I follow mmos and have some knowledge of what I am talking about. By the way WOW is a wonderful game one of the best mmos ever created. You mention 3 rough mmos launches, I wonder if you were actually at all 3 launches I was, and more then that I wonder if you actually played or put any time into those mmos, I have.
