    Wireless Headset Recommendations

I am a PS3 player but want to use mumble on my PC so I am looking for a wireless headset that has a mute control for the mic on the headset so I don't have to be near my pc to hit a push to talk button. I'd like to stay in the $50 range for this so I was wondering if anyone had any recommedations.

Don't go for PDP afterglow. Sound is very good but the unit is too damn heavy, can do about an hour and it's just hot, uncomfortable and tight.

I would also like to hear about peoples experiences. e.g. Turtlebeach, Razer, Logitech, Tritton

I bought a Turtlebeach headset for like $170 for my ps3 once. Broke within the first month I had it. Never again.

It all depends on what you are looking for. I have the wireless after glow headset and like Namko said they are heavy but have fantastic sound quality and for 80 bucks you really cant beat the price. I have bought a few Triton head sets and returned them every time because of how uncomfortable they are. My favorite are the Razer headphones. They are all comfortable but will cost you atleast $100 more for a wireless pair than the afterglow. Same with Turtle beach, any of their wireless headphones will cost you at least $100 more than the after glow. So it really depends on what your priority is. On a budget but want good quality? Afterglow. Have $200 bucks to throw around? Razer or Turtle beach.

I personally use the Logitech G930. I picked these up to consolidate my headset/mic woes. They're fairly comfortable, the battery life seems somewhat sporadic unless you keep them on all the time and just charge them as needed. I really enjoy the audio quality, almost matches my old Creative Labs sound card and the surround sound is pretty nice.

My old setup was a Creative Labs sound card w/ a pair of Grado SR-60 headphones and I would use a completely different headset while using chat programs, so I would lose the audio from the games. This setup allows to me do pretty much everything all-in-one.

I've got the Creative HS-1200 wireless headset which I bought cheap around teh launch of version 1.0. You push the mic up to mute and they adjust to the head pretty well - not stiff at all because the headband is made up of three parts volume control on it. Range isnt too bad either I can keep listening to music in the bathroom from the reciever downstairs even XD Also has a call button which can be hot-keyed for skype and other VoIP apps.

I would caution against purchasing this particular headset. I was initially impressed by the sound quality produced by this, but I have had so many problems with this headset that I'm not sure it's worth it. They are prone to battery problems, they constantly reset or randomly turn off, they can tricky to turn back on even when plugged in, the wireless connection is very spotty and constantly gets interference from router and other wireless devices. There are lots of software issues too (even with latest updates), where factory defaults reset randomly and macros stop working, etc. Their support forums are full of people having these same issues.

Anyway, when they work, they work very well, but unfortunately the troubles are more than it's worth.
