Log-In AFK Players

I would just like to say that I know that everyone is having log-in issues. I'm not asking for deferential treatment here or anything.

My boyfriend is a FFXI and FFXIV legacy member. He played all the way through to the servers shut down. He played FFXI for 8 years. I am an FFXI legacy player.

We both get these 1017, 2002, and then "Not Able to Validate NA/EU Servers" error messages. I know everyone is getting them. I know that every single person trying to log into the game is having issues. My problem is not with that. It's with the people who sit there, AFK for hours while they go about their separate tasks for the day. They stay logged in and just sit there, taking up precious little spots that actual players would love to use. You see it in Shout "YES! I got in!" "Now, Just don't log out."

Is there no way to incorporate an auto-log after so many hours? Or at least do a server reset at the end of the night? Please?

It would be so nice if you kicked people that are idle for more than 1 hour. Really, during this time of day, I have problems now. I really starting to think that American players leave their PCs on and logged in for whole damn night.

You honestly think that they care? They don't give two craps.. It probably would have been a lot easier to set an auto logout feature for afk players.. if they haven't done it by now and there is this many problems, don't plan on seeing something like this implemented for awhile.. So just have fun being frustrated on y our holiday like I am 2002 ftw!!!

If you werent asking for preferential treatment you wouldnt list your legacy status or history with the titles.

Disagree, I like the no-logout timer. Also, not a bug.

The logging issue which everyone is getting is a major problem and needs to be fixed. The game is better now but I do not want to spend most of the time trying to log on I just want to play.

Plus I do not think that the AFK players is the issue here, as FFXI give you the option to have a no-logout timer.
