    Security lock out: suspicious activity.

I went over to a friend's house with my laptop (From which I play FFXIV) and logged onto her wifi to check in-game while we were working on a project. I was wondering if this is a timed suspension or if I need to call someone?

I don't have a security token and never really needed one. Her wifi was set to open due to computer issues so maybe that's it?

This won't affect me when I get home, will it?

I've tried to reset my password but this is the message I keep getting no matter what:

Based upon recent suspicious activity, we have identified that your account may potentially be at risk. For your protection, we have temporarily suspended login access to this account.
Instructions for lifting this restriction have been sent to the email address registered to your Square Enix Account.

To ask the obvious, did you read the e-mail or the page that it sent you to? Not being derogatory or anything, I just don't know exactly what was in the e-mail, so it could have more instructions on what you can do.

I don't think it'll affect you at home. I'm not sure what suspicious activity they're detecting, but it could be something as simple as you logging in from an IP that's different from what you normally use. You might be right that it's just something with the open wireless connection.

Regardless, I wouldn't really worry too much about it unless it sticks around once you get home. If that happens, just go to that page, hit the 'additional assistance' button at the bottom, and tell them that you can't get the restriction removed.

You said you tried to reset your password, but how exactly did you go about doing that?

Do what the e-mail tells you to do and you'll be fine. But your account will be locked every time you play the game from a different IP address. That's just the way it is without a security token.

I found the issue, what happened was is that I have two emails, one for school/personal and one more private that I rarely use, there's one character difference. I've been attempting to reset my account with the wrong email. I've fixed it now.

What was basically wrong was that, no matter what I did or how many times I reset my password (under the wrong email) it wouldn't change things. The email I got that I sent to myself for a password reset wasn't connected to my account. Now that I know what's wrong, everything worked perfectly. I feel a little foolish, but yes. That's what happened, the change in IP set it off. Kind of annoying but all it takes is a reset in password and it's fixed. I just have to remember that to use the right email next time. :3
