i think he may mean that the gameplay feel significantly slower and less dynamic if u have 2-3 seconds between u push out abilities - and while its better for ones fingers its also much more boring - more dynamisc more fun -_- but its all personal feeling -_- i for one have seen that lvling up is incredibly linear at least to 20 lv - hope on higher it has some non linear progress at least cause htere is nothign more boring then being forced to one linear quest chain in mmorpgs -_-

Completely personal, "slower" attack makes for more tactical, faster makes for more frenetic. Which one you prefer is a question of taste.

How, in any way, is this game revolutionary?

    1. 2 1/2 second Global cooldown makes for incredibly boring gameplay.

    2. Most classes just spam two moves. It's incredibly scripted. They have more, but its obvious which moves do the most damage, and are critical.

    3. Fates give too much XP, and are far from imaginative, just spawn a bunch of otherwise regular mobs, woo!

    4. Dungeons have no personality, bosses are stupid easy.

    5. All characters look almost exactly the same, as does armor styles.

    6. Lack of limit breaks ala FF XI. Wooo, one character gets one overdrive once a dungeon. Whatever happened to cross party skillchains? You know, teamwork?

    7. Barely any gear in dungeons, lets fight our way to that chest for a hi-potion (if you're lucky)

    8. Annoying quest structure, run here, run there, teleport here, back there, teleport here, back there, etc etc

    9. Just too easy in general. Ridiculous easy. It better get at least 2x harder by end game.

So what am I missing? Played Wow, GW2, lotro, EQ 1+2, and I fail to see anything GREAT about this game. It's an average game that stands out because of the developer, which almost went bankrupt from bad decisions.
While i think some of your concerns are valid, if its so easy why have you not maxed out every level on every class? I have seen 50's on my server, how come you're not one of them.

1 your opinion and of someone else but not a fact. Surely not at high level
2 you are doing it wrong
3 have you played only low levels one obviusly, or you don't care about the lore and FATE description and for you nothing will be anything other then a bunch of mobs to kill
4 some are easy, specially story ones. I whouldn't call Temple of quarn easy, not for regular players standard. plus here end game is supposed to be really hard, not up to 50
5 never noticed in game this
6 go play FFXI-2 when they do it, this is not that. Teamwork is about the strategy needed to take down bosses, not need to press button one after the other
7 not true, many high lvl dungeon have more than half chests with loot
    8 how should they be?
9 you are not in end game and piss off about that in a game where they said that up to 50 was not ment to be hard? play end game before talk

You miss stop play this to bitch

Hmm... Nothing technical here. OP complains game is too easy and boring at lvl30, posts feedback into the wrong forum.

For some reason the OP's post reminds me of some ppl I experience complaining in Dungeons using Duty Finder.

"Player xxx, why you suck so much. I've cleared this xxx times, you are horrible." Complainer is constantly taking easily avoidable dmg, yet player they complain about is avoiding it and doing a decent job. Complainer is still taking easily avoidable dmg, dies and rage quits.

This is how I feel and is highly opinion based so take it for what it is worth.

How, in any way, is this game revolutionary?

    Class/Job system:
The fact that you are able to switch from class to class just by switching gear is one thing that I find that other MMOs lack. It breaks the class box a bit, allowing you to go between a few of your favorite related classes and create a character that suits your personal preferences. Being that I have experienced a strict class MMO and also a completely open class MMO, I feel like it gives me enough wiggle room to be happy and yet doesn't make me feel completely restricted to one role. Also if I really wanted to join and play with my friend on the same server at x level, either of us can switch to either a new class together or go to a class that compliments each other in level and skill by just switching weapons instead of having to relog. Saves time and makes it completely easy for me so when they log off I can switch back to what I want to work on and move on with my day.

    The Story
While most MMOs, I hit the point early on where I no longer care about the "fluff" or any of what the NPCs have to say, this one is the only one that continues to grab my attention and makes me want to continue in the game for the sake of the story line. Not only is there a main story line, but each class comes with a different story line as well as each starting city. After I finish raising the one character I am working on, I am looking forward to at least starting two more just so I can experience the stories in the other cities.

Every once in a while I also find myself wanting to know what the people around the quest giver has to say, which is something that Final Fantasy has always been able to give me. I actually CARE about what the NPCs have to tell me or sometimes I get curious about what the NPCs that don't even have a quest marker above their heads have to say. THAT in itself is what makes the game worth playing to me because I actually for once am enjoying what the writers have put into the game.

Though this is not revolutionary, one last reason that makes this game worth playing in my eyes is the nostalgia. I haven't played an FF game in years and this being the first one in ages that I have laid my hands one, being back in a world with chocobos and moogles makes me happy. Simple as that.

I will agree that there is really nothing new that they bring to fighting. I think that whole thing for me died with EQ2, as I love pvping and I felt like that game to me had the best battle system I could ever possibly dream of (outside of AoC. I have yet to discover if it is better, on the same level, or not as good as EQ2s as I have only hit level 18 so far). But to be honest, that's not the reason why I love this game so far. Every other field that other MMOs I feel have failed in, this has succeeded.

I can only hope that the game will get better as time goes on. I mean, hell, word is they are adding the golden saucer. For someone who quit after FF7. that's pretty exciting.

I hope that this game fills those spots for you as well and if not, then good luck finding one that does for you . Just to name some other ones that you may be interested in though some are not fleshed out, Secret World(s? I forget if there is an s. Supposedly the beginning levels they managed to make the beginner quests feel like nothing else out there in sense of, it is not your normal grind. Unfortunately, its been reported that as you head to end game, quests start to feel grindy again and lack the work that the beginning quests had.), Everquest Next, and Wildstar. (though I will not touch WoW with a stick. Already tried and absolutely hated it)

I have no problem with the 2.5 second cooldown between attacks. What i really have a problem with is the 60+ second cooldown when changing classes/jobs. I get that they don't want you to insta change between fights, but make it maybe 30 seconds. Also, not all skills go off of the 60 seconds. Some take 2-3 minutes to cooldown before first use when changing classes. Either make them all on the same cooldown for when changing classes, or make it so that the regular attacks are ready to use when changing classes while the higher cooldown ones have the same wait.

i would love to add my 2 cents to this discussion but i have yet to be able to play for any period of time for it to be valued enough despite trying since early access began :P
