So, because I can't log on to my character's world still unless I start my gaming day at 10-11PM, and a friend who bought the game at least in part so that we could play together only managed to log onto the server once for an hour right before an emergency maintenance period, I figure at this point I'd give up, make a real character on the only server she's managed to semi-routinely log on to, and at least join her there part time and try to make up a good chunk of the levels I've currently done all over again. Then, maybe once SE gets their act together there will be some sort of combination of less congestion and free transfers that will let both real characters play on the same world. Crazy, I know?

Here's the thing though.

As it turns out, *all* NA/EU worlds are no longer accepting new characters. Now, SE does like to post their updated lists, but as they never note which worlds if any are actually still open, or just note *All Worlds* rather than posting their non-alphabetized list of closed worlds, I got a character all ready only to find that not only was her world closed but all the others were as well.

Hmm, but the current world if I don't select anything is something along the lines of GM Test ... and I can move on straight past World with no selection made and name the Character. Okay, let's see what happens?

It accepts the name, and then apparently we've hit the limit of whatever QA they did. The Accept checkbox is greyed out. The Quit Character Creation checkbox is greyed out. All character creation options are greyed out. I can change the Pose and Attire. But that's it. The game is literally stuck here, giving the only remaining option as an Alt-F4 style quit.

Whoops? I have to admit though, that at this point I just find it funny that this slipped through testing. Guess I'll just have to wait longer to play with my friend, or bite the bullet and play GW2 when I want to play with her.

As an aside, Please don't make me play that game.
