How I would return that car to the shop.

How I would return that car to the shop.
this analogy is so bad, tired, played out, pathetic, and no where even close to relevant

Try something better, cause poor people are just gonna tell you what they do. Walk or bike instead, or in this case try repeatedly until you get in or wait until it's fixed. Try an analogy that doesn't have a loopholeSo, how pissed off would you be if you paid money for a new car and couldn't use it all but 20-30 minutes a day at most? Do you think people would jump to the manufacturer's defense? I'm sure fan boys would try defend such absurd practices, but everyone else would be outraged. Trying to find fun things to compare Squeenix's complete lack of planning, care for the consumer and ability to react to other products and industries...![]()
While there is a big difference between a car and an MMO, let me see how many ways I can "1017" (or other "errors") that car for you:
-- waiting for delivery of a new car
-- car breaks down, have to wait for repairman to fix car and parts to be delivered
-- traffic jam, may be in car but can't go anywhere (and in the case of "severe" traffic jam, a few years ago it took people 24 hours to go the distance that normally would take 1-2 hours)
-- traffic accident (whether your car is involved or once again you are stuck in traffic unable to move)
-- road construction and detours (able to drive car but can't access roads, may take longer to get where you are going)
-- gas shortage, especially when you are "queued" in a long line only to have the pumps go empty before it is your turn
Unfortunately, just because a person owns something doesn't mean they can always use it when and how they want. Is it frustrating? Yes. Is it sometimes the fault of the company? Yes (elsewise a thing such as "recalls" wouldn't exist). Is using the proper means to let a company know there is a problem appropriate? Yes. Is screaming and yelling helpful? May make people feel better but chances are it isn't going to solve the problem. Is flooding the forum with page after page of threads ranting about not being able to log in due to worlds being full really helping anything? No, in fact, it may be causing other issues instead. Other bugs and errors with the game are getting buried in all the rants. People having other issues with the game are getting buried. If people want to rant, fine, but keep it in a centralized location (one thread) please.
I'm gonna keep ranting, because it is mine, and the popular opinion of the forum that this could've been prevented from the beginning with a more structured and better thought out release plan. Also they have gotten post after post regarding AFK players sleeping at the wheel and occupying what little precious player space there is. We have cried an out pour of requests for some sort of auto AFK boot so the rest of us can at least have a chance.... and not once has SE responded to these out pours. They just keep saying, "We're working to upgrade our services and add more worlds." If I have a level 20+ character on an already filled world, I'm not gonna start all over just to play again. They keep pushing this "PAID" character port service available in the future and I honestly believe that is why SE is not addressing an auto boot now. Because they are just gonna leave the current worlds over-crowded and add more new world's to join, and then charge people a premium to port their current game instead of having to start over, all because they made bad decisions and totally F'ed the current worlds and their players. It's extortion and if you don't think SE is to blame, then who? Us end users? I don't think so!While there is a big difference between a car and an MMO, let me see how many ways I can "1017" (or other "errors") that car for you:

Furthermore, these posts are taking over the forum because they are such a widespread and detrimental issue. Purchasing the game and not being able to even log on??? I think that trumps most other ISP or issues currently out there. I pay every month for Directv, but if that signal goes out, you better believe I'm gonna have a credit coming. Yes, it's not a necessity, but it is a paid for service and a paid for service deserves to be honored!
I just made that same argument on another post. Let me reiterate. Say you just bought a new car, then you have engine trouble, you would take it back to where you bought it from and demand it be fixed. Givin' the nature of the problem you would demand it be fixed in a timely fashion. Same goes for this. Give them a timely expectancy for the the fix and then complain if it's actually unacceptable.
Squaresoft was the shit!!
