Fate EXP seems high; instance EXP seems low

SE put all this gorgeous work into these incredibly entertaining instances. But with how the exp stands, I can get about triple the amount of exp doing fates than I can in the same amount of time doing an instance.

It really is unfortunate too because Fates have become the most monotonous and frustrating thing ever. Wait in central area, spot a Fate, run there and hope the monsters render fast enough for you to tap as much as you can before the zerg come to get full exp. Repeat for hours and hope you're lucky enough to have a few black mages or white mages (after holy) in your party to get you some good exp chains.

There is absolutely no strategy in the Fate system as it stands, so why is it more rewarding to exp off of them instead of taking advantage of these amazing instances multiple times that require communication, effort and are a ton of fun?

Yeah to me, instances should give a small amount of grand company seals per kill AND give more exp. People should want to group up in a dungeon more then they want to sit and zerg out and exploit kill chain exp in a fate.

This would be so much better.

This is especially frustrating to people playing tanks and healers who would prefer to level by tanking and healing in dungeons. And it's sad that Fates, which were meant to break up the monotony of grinding quests and leves, have instead *become* the boring monotonous grind.

If you are looking at things from purely an EXP standpoint then you are doing it wrong. Instances serve a far greater purpose than allowing you to roll around in EXP. Just compare the loot dropped or the experiences one has completing instances versus grinding FATEs.

    FATEs

"...We put all this to Mr. Yoshida to find out if they were also seeing this and if they too saw it as an issue. Mr. Yoshida explained that the team realizes that FATEs are quite popular right now and that the system doesn’t scale well for the amount of players that are showing up to do them, but they are currently betting on this being less of an issue once people move through the game and the “mad dash” is over. We did press the issue to see if they would commit to adjusting things if they found FATEs to be the predominant way of earning experience and seals a couple months out from now and were told that the team would definitely take this under consideration if necessary, but for now, they are allowing players to have fun with it and that they are confident the issue will solve itself as the game matures..."
