So if they're not "the same" or "on par", explain how they aren't, because I current play FFXI, FFXIV, Rapplez and Rift -- all 4 games I can get gear just fine from the respective market systems. It's more like people seem to think alternatives can't exist in the world of MMORPGs.

When the alternative is a step backwards, and when you can refine a working and proven system like the AH instead, you can question it.
