If I'm in armor category, I have to switch to the weapons category and expand if it's well organized, which is no different than running a few seconds to the door and researching and remarking retainers.

Your entire point was the current setup isn't better than what AHs offer, therefore it is you that have to come up with something better when comparing the systems, because all you're comparing is what both system actually employ.
