Just a quick question! I created a character on my friend's PS3 and made sure to link it to my PSN account. I finally have a copy of the game to play on my own system, but it says I have to create a new character. How do start where I left off?

U sure its not just server issues? Alot of problems right now obviously...my character is lvl30 something...sometimes its there sometimes its not lol
I figured that might be the problem, but I wasn't sure! It's not like I'm far in yet, but it'd be nice to not have to start from scratch.
Do you mean you created the appearance? If so then you have to remake it as character appearance data is stored locally not on the server.
you say you used your friend ps3 because you didn't have a copy of the game yet? did you used your friends square enix account to log in an create a character to play? if so that character is tied to the square enix account in which it was created (which would have been your friends since you didn't have a copy of the game yet), doesn't matter what psn account was logged in at the time. So that might be the reason the character isn't showing up in your account now that you have the game.
Honestly if u r only lvl3 like it says just make a new one...prob take u less time than to straighten all that out lol
First of all - how exactly you've managed to use the game on your PSN account? The game is locked to the account it was purchased / activated on so either your friend is not able now use it on his / her own account or you've actually use it on his / her. Secondly - you should have copied the ARR game save and bring it over to your PS3. Finally - no, the characters are not stored (only) locally, once you'll login to your SE account (if you'll manage to do so though) you'll see your character(s). That's why you can freely moved between multiply PS3s, PCs and PS4s keeping your progress.
