Excalibur: New Character advice.

I have a friend I invited to the game, and they recently purchased it. However, I am on Excalibur and recent server restrictions are preventing him from being able to join me and my linkshell.

Problem is that it seems they are preventing new character creation for the server at the moment. Wanted to get some advice on what he should do. Either wait a few hours/days and wait for the server to open back up, or start in another world and do a World to World transfer.

Do we have any idea when the server might begin to allow new characters again? Are there any other Legacy servers that are now allowing for new characters again?

Does anyone know how long that would take if he were to do a World to World transfer?

sorry buddy, no one knows the answer to those qns.

they could always start characters elsewhere and play first while waiting for server transfer, and u could join them there.

I managed to get my friend a character on Ultros. Try logging in at around 2-3AM PST. That's when the servers are generally least active. I found that I could create characters on many servers if I logged in very early in the morning. It's worth a shot, and you won't have to pay for a transfer later.

I see, when did you do that? Because I believe they officially closed off new character creation for those servers as of yesterday.

Does anyone know how long a World to World transfer would take, or when it would even be available? I saw somewhere that it was a few weeks after game launch.

Same deal for me, My sister just got the game and cannot even create a character on my server.. Really quite upsetting.. I put too much work into my character to just make a new one.

Until they fully open character creation, if you want a character on a specific server you need to keep checking back (frequently) for an opening.

Yeah, the character creation restrictions have ended up causing a lot of folk to be spread about. Myfriend and his guild are scattered across like half a dozen servers cause Hyperion has been pretty much closed from new characters from even like phase 4 beta and early access, I managed to luck in at one point in phase 4 though, much to the annoyance of my friend.

I do hope this gets resolved in one way or another soon, friends want to play with friends, its one of the big draws in anything massivley multiplayer.

Yeah, I basically told him to go ahead and start on another server, and hopefully he will be able to World transfer. Secretly, I hope the server opens back up within the next day or so, so that he can just start over. I heard that World transfers might not happen for perhaps even a month or two.

I understand the game is much bigger than they thought it would be, but not being able to play with friends is a totes bummer.
