    Dare I say.....SWTOR?

I'm just going to say this is getting crazily similar to the debacle that was SWTOR.

Low communication (yes they have had some), proposed solutions to problems that many are unconvinced will fix the issues (how can making more servers help this situation when people are established with friends on their server now?), and now the community outrage. All it takes in the age of social media and internet is word of mouth. Slowly and most surely, we are bleeding potential players.

This game is AWESOME, for the time I have played I have enjoyed it tremendously and I can't wait to see end game content. Yes, MMO veterans know that we have seen our fair share of terrible launches, but we can't let that be an excuse. They terribly dropped the ball on how many people were signed up for the Beta and failed to recognize the positive feedback they were getting in order to prepare for early access and launch. Yes, they say they are working on it, but that does little to quell the current droves of people that simply have gotten minutes I would hate to see sub numbers never establish themselves because these issues aren't addressed.

Again quickly on the proposed fixed. I refuse to believe that every error is due to server population. The C++ Runtime Error, internet throttling, terrible server lag and system stability issues, simply being booted with 90000 or even a new one I saw the other day (can't remember the number). No way will the servers being added fix those issues, at least in my opinion. Hopefully they fix the server/lobby problems so they CAN move on to other issues. Hopefully....

Well, even if they only end up adding more servers and leave the current servers at their current capacity, that will still alleviate some of the congestion because people who are sick of the errors will move to other servers, and new people will stop trying to make characters on the current servers because they'll see it show up greyed out on the list when the new servers are not.

But also, in a typical IT setup, if a virtual server is not strong enough, you can add more hardware and assign said hardware to aforementioned virtual server. Now, I'm neither IT for nor an employee of Square Enix, so I don't know if there are some special circumstances behind their setup that make that impossible, but either way, upgrading the data centers will help.

On top of that (and I confess my sources are "other people in the game," so don't consider this a reliable statement), I've heard they're instituting free server transfers in about the middle of September, which will allow the horribly overpopulated servers to shift people off and open up again. (And allow friends to move to a less congested server together)

I'm not saying everything will be fixed, but the one argument that I haven't seen made so far is that the game isn't fun. It is very fun, and this will at least give us the ability to get in and play. I'm sure half of the lobby problems are caused thousands of people connecting and disconnecting from the lobby over and over by spamming their 0 key.

SWTOR's launch was extremely smooth in comparison to this shoddy launch

SWTOR's issues were fixed a lot faster and a lot more of a majority actually got to play.

Agree completely, I wasn't getting really into what the issues were, just that there were terrible issues.

Disagree with this. The game was unplayable for many due to no cross server system and simply dead servers. It took them months to implement that. By then many people had left the game unwilling to sit in queue forever for PVP or actually be SHOCKED to see another player out in the world leveling. So yeah, you got to log on and play, but to actually participate in a lot of the typical MMO activities, you could not. Also, terrible end game content IMO.

I played SWTOR at launch, and I personally never had any issues connecting to the game. As I recall, the biggest complaints about SWTOR were content complaints, not technical ones. If some people were unable to play it when it launched, that is pretty bad, but in the case of ARR, EVERYONE seems to be having the problem more often than not. I'd say that makes this situation much worse.

I didn't mean launch I meant ability to affectively fix issues and listen to the player base and little to no updates. And no I didn't say actually connecting to the game. The servers were ghost towns for many making the game unplayable, just an example of lack of foresight and what happens when word of mouth spreads.

The game did not launch with many things that players asked for. They took awhile to add them. The launched game, in my opinion was not a finished product and neither is this (for different reasons but I believe the comparison holds water).

the game did not get there ghost towns ill about 8-12(maybe it was less, been a long time sense I played) months roughly after the launch of the game cause after everybody maxed lvled and finshed end game content and was nothing to do after so people left like I did.. wich I was pissed cause I bought the collectors edition. But when it first launched there were a shit load of people playing

lol...didn't it take them about a month to fix the issue with slicers making atleast 16 times the credits that everyone else who did other professions could make? I had players offering me credits on jedi covenant and telling me to switch to slicing and I was more interested in making lightsaber hilts. That alone ruined that games economy.

But SWTOR's numbers were no where near the numbers that SE is having to put up with.
