Sound on the PS3

I am only getting sound through my optical input when I play this game. When I have the sound out put on HDMI I have sound at the log in screen only , once I play the game no sound? Anyone else have this problem or know what's going on?

It's always best to kind of narrow potential hardware problems down.

It could be that the volume in the system configuration is down low and/or off?
It could be the client? Maybe deleting & reinstalling the client could fix it?
Maybe it's a new issue that hasn't been brought to light?

It's not the HDMI cable because you're getting sound at the log in screen. Although to make sure of this try using the cable on a different source (different TV/screen) to be certain that it is not the cable.
Try putting the cable in a different HMDI port on the screen?

It's not the hardware I have sound at xmb menu and with other games and movies using the hdmi. The in game settings are correct. There are multiple sound option on the playstation itself my arr set to 5.1 and dts which this game supports.

I fixed it its linear 5.1 audio. You must select it in manual settings. It will not pick it up if u put the setting to automatic
