Unable to update the group NA/EU character lists

It seems people are saying that this means servers are offline. This isn't the case. It seems that if the game can't load characters within so much time, it says it cannot update the character list.

Over the past hour or so, I've been able to load my characters on and off. One time, I got this message right on top of my characters, at which point I was able to try to log on (1017). I also got 1017 at the character screen without actually selecting a character.

I'm not exactly well versed in this stuff but I'm going to guess that this is some sort of mega 1017. Another layer. When 1017 isn't enough, the game prevents players from even loading their character lists. Imagine the stress of tens of thousands of people spamming login attempts. But that's just a guess. Feel free to say so if I'm wrong.

Even now, I'm still getting my character lists every few tries. If you keep trying, I'm sure you will too.

Ok.. since we have to spam login because SE is too stupid to implement a GOOD and USEFUL queue system and afk booter... this unable to update the group NA/EU character list is getting in the way.. It's worthless to even play right now.. I'm going to be one of "THOSE GUYS" and stayed logged in from now on. Oh well, others do it.. can't beat them (Obviously majority of us can't) join 'em.

It is so frustrating that i spent most of my day off trying to log in and now most of my time after work just trying to log in.. from the global advertisments they knew it was going to be big.. they could have had an idea from the ammount of people trying to apply for the beta..

i am really disappointed and really frustrated!

on topic (more than the above) has anyone recovered from this message? because when i get this message my character list will not load unless i restart the client

I can't be doing this restart shit anymore.
I have to use PS3 controller and my PW and my one time pw via controller and then I have to pray and hope my characters load or else I have to relog and press the PS3 middle button and leave and do all sorts of junk.
coz I'm sick of typing shit over and over lol. I just can't or else I'll get pissed and kill an innocent ant on the ground. :C

I don't need to restart the client but it I do have to wait a few minutes in between tries. Restarting the client appears to bypass the waiting.
