I am all for some type of system that mildly regulates exp, but punishing players for not taking "time off" is a HUGE step in the wrong direction for MMOs.

FFXI had a simple system with the exp loss on death thing. People who played a lot ran a higher risk of losing experience since they would most likely die more often than a casual player.

Regardless, while I am not demanding the same system as FFXI, I think the current fatigue system is just a complete turn off and it doesn't fit in today's MMO market.

Players should be rewarded for taking time off, or trying new things, but they should not be punished just because they enjoy a certain class or they have a full free Saturday to level and grind.

I beg of FFXIV devs to reconsider a better alternative. Remember, in the MMO world, rewards are always received better by the player base than punishments. Don't turn away the player that loves your game and wants to keep playing.
