I was getting some password errors myself.... donno if it was because it was unable to authenticate due to the demand... but I've not had any issues in the past half hour

I expect there to be congestion/traffic on Wednesday when the servers come up. There will that rush.
It's hard to get over SE's fk up, but trust me when I say that pulling away from FF14 for a bit is a good idea. It's out of our control right now, and there are more than enough people out there who insist on doing the complaining for us. I was going to play this game over the holiday with my peeps, but can't. I'm upset about the game, but I will not let it ruin my holiday, however!

Because they're finally getting their shit together and expanding servers. Or so they say.

They aren't expanding servers they are adding servers so people can create new chars on them.

They're adding servers not expanding and adding in countermeasures to make sure the congestion doesn't happen again though I'm sure that's easier said than done. And they wont be ready tomorrow, the servers come down tomorrow and wont be back up until the next day.

Countermeasures means they will be adding in the 1017 error to the other existing servers. Nothing new. They are adding servers and increasing the number of data servers for the duty finder.
