Log in situation is getting worse?

Yes the log in situation is getting worse. The servers for NA/EU have been terrible. They were down more than they were up for the 2 hours I tried logging in today. SE needs to fix the RELIABILITY of their servers since they restrict the environment (server log ins and character creation).

Edit: I realize I used poor word choice above. The servers for NA/EU were up because I had friends playing the game when I couldn't log in. However, the NA/EU servers would rarely showed up on the log in screen.

Now I'm thinking out loud but I think SE needs to fix the reliability of their log in system since the servers were actually up. There is no way the servers should completely disappear for complete hours while trying to log in. Maybe they could say the servers are full or something but not have them completely vanish.
