An afk timer would do a lot of good as currently a lot of people stay online just so they don't have difficulty logging in. This prevents a lot of other people being able to enjoy the game.

Most importantly, however, is the queue system. We need a working one. Otherwise we are left to sit in frustration spamming log in and getting all kinds of errors.

World transfers would also work, although I'm not sure how well. A lot of people have already grown attached to worlds/FC's etc.

For example, I'm on Ragnarok and I became attached to Ragnarok as it is Europe's only Legacy server.

Adding more servers will be a bandaide fix. Why? People will spread out.. when the hype dies... low pop/dead servers will appear. That's why most MMOs just create a great afk system and an even better QUEUE SYSTEM that functions 100% correctly so those waiting don't/can't interrupt gameplay for those in the game actually playing.

I hope they add a "World Load/capacity " section on the website and in the Character create section. With this ability we can decide on which world to join based on load of the world. The fact the server is up is nice, but I want to know what type of game play I can expect when I create a character in the world.

Of course right now they would all be "High - Unplayable" but eventually we may see a Low - Medium- High rating which would allow us to decide where we want to establish our homes.

In addition, without this feature I am not going to pay to move my character since I do not know if the world I am going to is any better than where I am.

(If this type of display is already available I apologize for my comments and would appreciate a link - Thanks)

You guys seem to forget that the game-play would suffer immensely if they were to increase the player cap for the servers, it would render the game unplayable as the framerate drops in big cities or in places with many players at the same time now imagine having a million people run around everywhere, clogging up everything. They need to add more servers AND implement a queue system that works.

If all they are doing is adding new worlds, I don't think its going to fix anything. People want to stay on the worlds they are on with the friends they have made. Especially when it comes to the legacy worlds where people have been playing together for a lot longer. Unless they increase the capacity of current worlds, I don't see it getting any better.

I don't know beans about networking and servers, however if it were possible I think it would be better to use the new machines to boost the capacity of the current worlds instead of adding more. Or possibly even introduce overflow zones/servers.

As for those blaming AFKers. The plethora of AFKers are a symptom. They are not the problem. If the capacity weren't so limited, people wouldn't be sitting AFK just to reserve a space for themselves. An automatic idle logoff wouldn't fix anything, and would only encourage people to come up with methods to circumvent it. And they would, almost immediately. Waste of resources to devise one now, if you ask me. However, an optional idle-logger like what XI had might be desirable down along the line for those who have a habit of falling asleep at their keyboards.

They arent doing enough to fix the issue, what they NEED to do is add the new worlds, up all the servers atleast 1000-2000 more players, add an afk timer, and fix the queue then MAYBE it will be enough. 2000x20=40000.... Only 40k people can be on at once for the 230k+ people trying every hour. Im hearing its 5k people, but even then thats still not even half the people trying. Its outrageous, and a disgrace.

The answer to the question is simply no. Adding new servers will do nothing but have a number of new servers who find themselves filled. Character transfers are rumored to happen later this month, not in the next 2 days, so the people who are currently on servers are going to have 2 options, wait it out, or start fresh on a new server. Increasing the server cap will help slightly, but not enough. People don't want to log out because they want to be able to play the game when they come home. This is bad logic, these people are the major part of the problems currently on the servers. Until they add in a afk kicker to remove the inactive players the server problems will continue.

And for those people who buy into the story of they didn't know how popular the game would be, please. They have a sales research team who gets paid for this. They had preorders placed, they knew how many early access they'd have, they knew how many games they shipped, and how many digital downloads they had. They had the ability to track every single purchase of the game. They knew how many people were going to play the game at launch.

No MMO launch is perfect, no MMO game is perfect, that's the reason they get patched all the time, but these problems were happening in the beta testing stages of the game. They knew how many people were going to play, they knew what there hardware could handle, this was a mess up on there part, and hopefully they address it with the patch tomorrow, but like I said unless they do something about all the afk players in current servers, nothing is going to change.

To be honest, I think you should never underestimate the power of more servers. but for actual increased space and for the effect on peoples login habits.

When the new servers are eventually rolled out it's my guess that people will finally stop staying logged in 24/7
I remember a year when I was young kid there was a petrol shortage in Ireland.
When the shortage was announced on the news people started scurrying to their local pumps to fill their tanks in case they ran out later.
There were families with 2 or 3 cars selfishly thinking "well I don't want my car to run out so I'm going to get a full tank now"
This made petrol stations run out in about 24 hours, and station were getting 3,4,5,6 times their normal custom.

    the translation of this is
Assuming 8 hours play a day, over 24 hours you can fit three users on a 'space' at 8 hours each (this is an estimation just to show the math in place)

Thus over 24 hours using this simplified formula you can have 5000 spaces service 15000 users. 5000 for 8 hours, then a new 5000, then another then it starts again.

But as it is now if 4000 users are staying logged permanently for fear of never being able to log back in, That leaves the other 1000 spaces to be used by people logging in and logging out,
so it's 5000 spaces servicing 7000 users over 24 hours.

Once the idea permeates that "we've it all sorted out; servers for everyone!!", people will begin behaving like normal human beings and logging of when they've finished and an AFK will no longer be needed.
Whatever the physical number of users the game can accommodate post server expantion, the actual number over time, will be greatly increased.
