Keyboard language changed on its own?

For those of you who live in Canada, I'm sure you're familiar with the dreaded "French-Canadian auto-changing keyboard setting." That's when you're in the middle of typing something, and you suddenly notice that you can't type question marks, or half of the other symbols on your keyboard.

Anyway, on my computer, it still says that the US keyboard is selected, but in-game, I'm having this terrible problem. I don't know what else I can do, save for closing the game and re-opening it. But... let's face it. If I quit the game, I'm not getting back on any time soon. I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't require a game restart, or for me to log out.

Unforunately I can't think of anything other than restarting to refresh the game's keyboard settings. I've had the keyboard do the magical language switch while playing several times but changing the keyboard back always fixed it.

Apparently left alt + shift or ctrl+shift is supposed to work on a PC. I used to do this all the time in WoW, accidently changing the language settings. I highly doubt it's related to FF14 and is just a general windows.. thing. But I could be wrong.

Yah that shortcut is probably what causes people to accidentally change languages. Unfortunately it seems the OP has already changed it back to US in Windows and the game refuses to acknowledge that fact so it continues to type in French characters. Could try that shortcut with the game window active I suppose.

Oops I need to l2read. >.< But yeah.. game window active. Crossing my fingers for you! I HATE THE DREADED French-Can keyboard switch! ?????????s everywhere!

The issue us one key in the keyboard you hit ~ re hit that key it should remove kanji
