its what i always hear for late coil (turn 4-5)This has been bothering me for some time and maybe somebody can shed some light on it for me.
Where is this 470 accuracy number coming from?
Is it based off dungeons? Is it based off coil pre Twintania? Is it based off Twintania itself? I really must know where the OP pulled this number from that people are running with like it is gospel.
It was based on some testing on lower level stuff that was extrapolated for coil level stuff that was further tested and verified to be approximately correct.
Notes:
1. Turn 1 - 4 is supposed to have a 472 acc cap for physical, with T5 at 482.
2. The GCD in this game is slow. Hence fewer attacks per minute than other games. Hence it's harder to easily see misses depending on RNG, especially at the "1 acc reduces misses by 0.00000000000000001%" range.
christ i just finished reading every single page. back to page 1 to read it all again...lol
Haha, I'm always tempted to sit down and try to compile some sort of FAQ from the comments. Even then the discussions in the thread are so good that it's still worthwhile for people to dig through everything. It's actually encouraging that the guide is beginning to fall off the first page since it means we've done a good job of resolving most of the questions/issues people have, or at least provided enough information that they can make their own decisions about what is best for them.
I'd be nice to know if anyone thought something was missing and should be added. I try to keep things up to date, but I'm sure there's something that could be useful to include. Or maybe we just have to wait for the next instance/progression of the Dragoon job to dig our teeth into some fresh problems.

I think we should do a very concise FAQ of all of the interesting discussions and theorycrafts, or add links to the posts on the first page. At least this way, we won't have to be looking through the now 50 pages of information, and won't result in having questions asked multiple times.
Patch 2.1 is going to produce a lot of interesting discussion I feel.
a FAQ would be nice, but a lot of the info that i was absorbing was the discussion. personally i think theres way too much good info here to be in a FAQ, anyone who reads everything will benefit the most (after getting a migraine of course, its a lot to take in , i read most of it at once)
but i suppose if someone wanted something very specific, wanted something to read real quickly and just do those things like a robot, then a FAQ would work.
Isn't the first post more or less "the best of"? I guess it is a bit more directed.
still a lot to read, i wouldnt consider it a "quick" read
Was rereading the thread and maybe this was suggested later and I missed it, but there was complaints about button bloat. What I've done (as I do in most mmo's that use wasd as movement keys) is remap so that my only keys for movement are "s"(strafe left) and "f"(strafe right"). I hold down right mouse and drag left/right to turn, and hold down left/right mouse to run forward. This opens up keys 1-5 and q,a,e,r,t,a,d,g,z,x,c and v to be hot keyed to skills. Movement takes some getting use to but eventually it becomes 2nd nature. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps someone. I also use shift as a multiplier where it doesn't contort my hand to bad to hit.
On dummies any of the main rotations discussed will parse very similarly, you should end up at ~260 (with DL/+1). For actual fights the current parsers are still too unreliable. I've had both LogRep2 and FFXIVAPP give me completely stupid numbers, but they're under constant development so we'll see what happens.
using your main rotation mixed with the cool downs, ive gotten up to 260 max but have been told it averages around 215. i am really trying to get this up, i have 2 pieces of allagan and 1 myth, and i have a feeling i should be doing better than this.
