I'd think that the other people in the party would have to be doing less damage during dives+adds for a person to do 550

I have done 507 with earthshakers but I think it all depends on raid dps during dives.

Or draw out the last phase A LOT - if you don't die you can make up for all of the downtime, or at least, most of it, it it gets drawn out long enough.
