those tests had issues with weights because the str baseline that those weights were established based off of were strayed too far away from. increasing str increases the weight of the secondaries generally, and decreasing it will do the same thing, and at some point with crafted gear, the weights become inaccurate; that is what happened with dervy's tests when he used 9 pieces of crafted gear; his str was too low, so despite higher stat weights, the decreased value of the secondaries made the weights inaccurate for that str range

I'm really curious about this ever since that was said. Because a more recent statement was more like, "okay, yeah, it's a consolation prize stat. itemize around it." (meanwhile, in SMN and BRD world...).

Hey guys, now that Carbon Twines are available outside of Final Coil (and WoD is here), are the upgraded Poetics gloves a better choice than the Astrum ones? This is my gear currently. I don't need any additional accuracy for now, so I'm only really interested in gloves that would improve my damage.

But it's fine by me, because it's a single drop difference from the Black Truffle + no-crafted BiS, and that's a drop I don't have. Also, it has a slightly higher stat weight.

At 4+ mobs I know i should just AoE.

You should AoE at 3+ mobs unless you're low on TP.* Even if that means going single-target on the next pack, you'd otherwise be sitting on that TP. In fact, you could AoE at 2 mobs if you're really TP-rich (with the recent buff to Chaos Thrust, it technically does more DPS than 2-target Doom Spike now... but only if it ticks out a lot).

DoTting takes a while to do on DRG, so on two long-lived targets you can focus target #1 with the ST rotation and put DoTs on target #2. On two short-lived targets... "it's trash, who cares."

* When I AoE, it devolves from [HT-RoT-DS spam] with all buffs up and full TP to [HT-RoT] some time after Invigorate to single-target (to finish off stragglers). You should watch mob HP in relation to your TP drain rather than do something a set number of times, especially since most dungeons aren't done in two Mythflox-style pulls. In my experience, not all that much lives past that the HT-RoT stage if you're moderately geared for a dungeon and the other DPS is okay.

Alright guys, I need help. I've finally downed T9 and I'm averaging 370-390/400 DPS (even more depending on pure luck) with my current gear. I don't know if that's good, I'm told it is, but I want to improve since my gear is actually quite bad.

This is my current set up. My helm, is bloody everywhere. MY chest piece is melded, bot not with the best materia. Same with the belt.

Currently, with this get up, I have enough accuracy for T10 (and maybe T11 too?) Yet when I upgrade my boots and gloves to IW, I don't think I will be.

Now, my first main question. Should I replace my helm? And also, what about other other two crafted pieces?

Second question, should I forgo my gloves and just hope for dreadwyrm to drop from T10?

And the ultimate question, where should I look to go from here, to gear up for FCOB? Like, for my WHM, MND simply beats all other secondary stats by miles. So even if a piece of gear has meh secondary stats, as long as it has lots more MND, it's simply better.

Is this how it works for with DRG too? Should I just go for Demon/full IW due to the STR?

Also, I'm currently at a decent slot with SS, 370 which lets me get in another hit during BfB, should I go for more?

1) Remeld the helm to 18ACC/25CRT/18DET/18SS. This set-up is BiS
2) The chest piece is junk
3) You need to remeld your belt to be 19ACC/19CRT/12DET/18SS. This set-up is BiS
4) If you cannot get those melds, then you've wasted cash and they're junk.
5) You have too much accuracy. 535 is the accuracy cap for T13. T10 is 492 if i remember correctly.
6) Grind the shit out of WoD to get upgrades and Solds, yes. Get rid of that crafted gear if you cannot meld it.
7) Buy the i110 sold gloves, they're brilliant as you're over-capped on accuracy

Quick follow up to number 6 and 7. I'm probably going to grab the chest piece from WoD, since it'll mean I can upgrade my gear quicker than spending 825 poe on the chest (though, in hindsight, Augmented IW chest is bis, am I right?)

I know for IWS, Legs are BiS, Chest is BiS and boots are BiS too, right? So should I get those as IWS over the demon ones?

Yup! Spend your Poetics on the chest, legs and boots (make sure you're accuracy capped for content however), and everything else WoD.

As you can see the pieces 130 I got have mostly no accuracy on them, so at the moment I need to equip 120 items to reach the accuracy requirements. This is going to be more difficult if I get the Dreadwyrm body and neck pieces. At the moment my only chance to upgrade Ironworks is with twine from hunts since other members of the static still didn’t get their first (as I did).

So I really was wondering to buy the Ironworks Lance. I had a small discussion with a couple of friends in my static and they hardly suggest to not get the weapon because the Zodiac ILVL will be raised in the next patch. I think that even with an updated Zodiac would be nice having a weapon with accuracy oas an option. (Obviously I’ve tried multiple equips on Ariyala and it gave priority to Ironworks Weapon).

So what’s your opinion?
