I have a ghetto i110 crafted chest with 5 DET IIIs on it, and I didn't notice a DPS increase number wise at all going to i130 DW chest, if that's any reference.

Thanks, I'll just have to play about with the BiS solver I guess. I have no idea how to make those calculations but I'll get the hang of it.
Really? I would have thought the 11 str itself would have made a huge difference!I have a ghetto i110 crafted chest with 5 DET IIIs on it, and I didn't notice a DPS increase number wise at all going to i130 DW chest, if that's any reference.
Might have something to do with the +47 SS. Otherwise it should've been a slight increase in DPS, but not really a massive one.
As far as I can tell, the IW body is better than the penamelded crafted one, but the crafted one is ever so slightly better with 2 DET 4s in the guaranteed slots. So I wouldn't waste the Poetics unless you planned to uprade it to i130 soon, but it also depends on how much gil you want to spend to get the chest. Though you should take into account that the Dreadwyrm chest has massive SS on it, which can cause many many problems.
As a side note, arms and boots are a pain as they come preloaded with +25 SS on each. I currently have over 500 SS and it sucks hardcore. My 2nd Invigorate is miles off when I'm dry. Need the Shiva spear ASAP. ; _ ;

Ghetto Wootz Mail:
STR: 39 * 1.000 = 39
CRT: 29 * 0.233 = 6.467
DET: 20 * 0.327 = 6.54
Weight: 43.007
DW Mail
STR: 50 * 1.000 = 50
CRT: 33 * 0.233 = 7.689
SS : 47 * 0.198 = 9.306
Weight: 66.995
It should be a small DPS increase. Nothing major.
Thanks for all the answers. The chest piece is cheap and as long as I socket two IV's first, the rest won't cost much really. So that's not bad at all. Means I can pretty much skip the poetics one, and although the augmented one is nice, if it warrants only a minor boost, it'll probably be a better choice to keep with the crafted and gear out my other areas.
Back in 2.2, I had 3 pieces of i90 crafted gear. I still wear them. Crafted gear is amazing if it's penta-melded correctly.

I currently have the crafted 110 head, chest, and belt. I LOVE my crafted gear and get a Det Buff Boner every time I check my stats lol! The nice thing about the new crafted gear is that the stat caps are significantly higher, so you could penta-meld all Tier IV materias and still not be capped!
Friends don't let friends Dragoon
Actually, that's a point. I know too much SS will run us dry of TP fairly quickly, yet I remember having SS around 450 allows us to get two TTT combos in after our Chaos Thrust while under the effects of BfB. Is this worth getting 450 SS for or should I look to shave off as much SS as physically possible?
i was looking between those two sets too, and decided on skipping the flint caviar set. 4* food that costs around 25k for maybe 1 dps and some skill speed, no thanks! the skill speed isn't high enough that it'd let you do something like fit an extra FT/phlebotomize in BfB either
