we have nothing that uses MP, inherently no physical DPS does shy of bard (monk might one day, their stances say they consume MP but they dont atm).

Yeah it's based on hitting 46x (the two sets listed should give 466 and 470) acc with maximum stat weights.
I did not include HQ Crafted gear, however, since I don't know what the stat caps on those look like. Only Myth and Allagan pieces were considered.
the stat caps are set by equipment slot and ilvl. for example
bard darklight hat = 12 dex 14 vit 11 acc 16 crit
drg darklight hat = 12 str 14 vit 11 acc 11 det
stat cap for darksteel helmet = 12 str 12 dex 14 vit 11 acc 16 crit 11 det
in general the extra STR from ilvl90 will beat extra secondary stats still

So, how much of a DPS loss is getting Wyrm Mail over Relic +1 first? Really tired of looking at ugly ass darklight & wondering how much I'd be missing out on if I got the body first & kept normal relic.

This is easy enough to calculate using the stat weights. Gae Bolg+1 increases WD by +2, STR by +4, and CRIT by +3 (also a small accuracy boost). Switching from DL chest to Wyrm gives you +9 STR, +6 DET, -19 SS and +24 CRIT. Using the following weights from the guide:
Weapon Damage: 7.54
Strength: 1
Determination: .22
Crit: 0.16
Skill Speed: .146
That means the +1 increases your stat score by 2*7.54 + 4*1 + 3*0.16=+19.56
The Wyrm chest increases your score by 9*1 + 6*0.22 - 19*0.146 + 24*0.16=+11.386
Moral of the story is stat weights make gear decisions easy, and always go for Weapon Damage
Good, I'll throw the 470 acc list up on the guide then since you said you barely lose any side-stats, and having 470 accuracy is a good hedge for Coil until we have a solid number.

Error 3102, 90000, 1017, 2002, 2/3 survivor

That helps; yeah that means the HQ crafted gear all sucks compared to Myth/Allagan, except for the accessories for specific cases (you can add Vit materia for more HP).

Thanks for the info, body it is.

Nah. I wasn't asking for best in slot upgrade, as I already knew weapon was obviously stronger, I asked how much of a loss it was in comparison and it's not enough to care about waiting a few more weeks when my dps will be well over 200 regardless and I hardly do coil for it to really matter. He gave me the info I needed(the stats) and I made my choice. Simple right?![]()

I think it would be interesting to get some kind of measure of how much of a dps loss a certain reduction in stat score would be. Let's take my own stats as an example, and for the sake of argument say I do 300 dps on a dummy (with decent gear your dps should be around this area, but I have no idea of exact numbers). Assuming all things equal with your rotation, your dps will then become purely a function of your stat score, which we can determine using the stat weights.Nah. So with 474 accuracy, I have 46 WD, 447 STR, 271 DET, 396 CRIT, 431 SS = 46*7.54 + 447*1 + 271*0.22 + 396*0.16 + 431*0.146 = 979.75 stat score
So a 979.75 score gives me 300 dps, meaning each point of stat score is equivalent to 0.306 dps. The loss of 8.174 stat score points (as in the case of taking the Wyrm chest piece over a +1 relic) would therefore equate to a loss of 2.5 dps.
This is obviously an extremely rough calculation (and assumes a linear increase/decrease in dps with stat score), but could also be refined by replacing gear to raise and lower your stat score and seeing how this affects your dummy dps. This could be a useful way in the future to get an idea of how your overall stat gain/loss will affect your eventual damage output.
