    Because if you do it that way then the IDC refresh is staggered and the stagger ends up cascading and resulting in slightly shaky timing.

    HP IDC TTT ?

    If you use TTT again then the HP goes down.

    If you use HP again then:

    HP IDC TTT
    HP ???

    If you use IDC, then that clips heavily. If you use TTT:

    HP IDC TTT
    HP TTT IDC

    Then the second IDC clips a bit (est. 2 ticks), but it is not horrendous. The problem is the next sequence:

    HP IDC TTT
    HP TTT IDC (note: the clipping here is already inefficient compared to the original H-IDC-P approach)
    HP TTT ???

    In this case, what do you use? If you use IDC, then it will again clip very heavily (est. 4 ticks). If you use TTT, then you will lose a GCD of DE uptime and end up with some CT downtime.

    However, due to the 2.1 clip changes and the raw strength of CT, the clipping and downtime in this sequence is not "horrible". It's just less efficient than:

    H IDC P TTT H TTT
    P IDC H TTT P TTT


    The HP IDC offset approach is actually less than a percent weaker than the alternating H/P approach, so use whatever you're comfortable with. They're both 24 attacks long.

    Apparently I need to drop Fracture. Thing is, besides having grown accustomed to placing three DoTs instead of just two, I have no idea what to use instead.

    I currently use 1) Internal release and 2) Mercy stroke, because of obvious reasons. Then 3) Second wind because after big unavoidable hits it never hurts to heal before anything else, and finally 4) Featherfoot to use in dire moments coupled with Keen Flurry.

    What's left is: 1) Fracture. Wait, I was replacing that one. Oh well. 2) Foresight. Would fit in the "panic" macro where I put Keen and Featherfoot, I guess? 3) Bloodbath. Because a good offense is the best defense...sort of. 4) Haymaker. Meh. I am not even supposed to be tanking for long and I think in coil it's not even possible to dodge, what is the point? 5) Mantra. I thought this was *the* shit. Like, the best thing I could do to help my mates in hard encounters. Then I discovered it was only 5%. I know, I know, every little bit helps...but I'm not sure this is going to make the difference.

    I chose Fracture, before, because it was the closest thing to an offense-orientated crossclass - and I was trying to be as DPS-focused as possible rather than increase survivability or giving a (very slight) form of support. But I am not entirely sure this is possible if Fracture is included among my skills, considering the posts from EMX after 2.1 where he states that it's actually a DPS loss. Any advice?

    I use Internal Release, Mercy Stroke, Second Wind, Foresight and Bloodbath. Don't like the RNG of evasion, rather some proper mitigation.

    You can still keep Fracture on your hotbar, it still has its uses for some bosses, but don't have it in your main Rotation.

    Just beat estinen for dragon fire dive. And just beat Garuda. Is now a good time to go after mercy stroke and mantra? Or proceed to main storyline further?
