PS3 Graphics / load for high volume areas

Hello,

I am not sure if anyone else is receiving this problem. I play this game via PS3. I have been noticing this more and more as I have been leveling up, however when I do popular fate areas where there are a lot of people or a lot of enemies, the enemies do not show up on the screen, but are able to attack me. I am not able to retaliate back for what feels like an eternity (likely 15-20 seconds). Also in towns I saw this especially bad last night in Camp Drybone - where the NPC's were not loading for 1-2 minutes at a time, and was loading other people's characters/pets first. Also at times fight animations for my character or interactive animations with objects do not show up when the area is popular, so it looks like i'm just standing there when in fact I am fighting a MOB. Looks kind of weird.

Other then that, I absolutely love this game (when I can play it).

Also I should add that this makes some areas almost unplayable as a DPS. You can't target a MOB and by the time you do and are able to attack it it is typically dead (in the case of a FATE). Causing much lower EXP ability to be earned.

Is your PS3 wired? When I was playing wirelessly the game could get unplayable, but ever since wiring the connection it was gotten much better. It was so bad I couldn't even see my party in dungeons.

If you think this is a big issue in Final Fantasy XIV, you should have tried playing DC Universe online... At times the areas themselves didn't even load and you just fell to your death when you zoned...

This is a big accomplishment on the PS3, but there is no denying that its doing (attempting) more than the hardware was designed for. People will argue that 256mb RAM isn't a limiting factor, but it is, and for this reason its unlikely to ever be fixed

My wife plays alongside me on PS3, and the difference (not just graphically, but with those draw issues you have identified) are staggering...

Disappointing - was waiting for this game since it released the first time on PS3 and was one of the determining factors of actually buying a PS3. Hopefully there is something that will be able to be done to fix it, I do not want to upgrade my PC to play. Perhaps when the server issues die down this may get better.
