Server transfers "2-3 months out"... Does this change thing for you?

I think the server problems are also preventing players from creating new characters on new servers, so the solution for friends trying to group up is not as simple as creating a new character on an agreed-upon server. Meanwhile, everyone is just continuing to play and level and hoping their progress won't be wasted. We'll see if the server problem gets fixed by Wednesday.

As for server transfers, I believe the Legacy servers are opening up after 6 months. I'm not certain about what their plans for 2-3 or mid-september are. Maybe they will be able to make some progress in it and give us an actual date once they finish patching up the server and data centers.
