Unable to click "start" at the main menu

The title pretty much says it all. This is a new low for SE, as if the 1017 error wasn't enough, now I am not even able to unsuccessfully log my character in as the character selection screen is inaccessible for me. I'm growing very tired of all of these technical difficulties and they're completely ruining this game for me. Get your shit together SE.

I, too, have been experiencing this issue. I'm sure the overflowing servers were due to poor planning and a pushed release, but I've grown weary of having to exit the game 9 or 10 times in a row just to attempt to log in. This is by far the poorest MMO launch I have experienced yet. I pray the issue is fixed.

Don't worry. I've been getting the same Error 2002 as well. The Start button has been un-clickable. Looks like I'm celebrating my Labor Day pulling weeds outside my front lawn then.

I had this problem the last 24 hours... I got around it (know it sounds weird) by waiting a bit, then a cinematic started playing. Cancelled that (Esc) and the the Start button became clickable...don't know if it's pure luck, but it worked...buuut now i'm stuck again, there're no NA/EU in the list...

Likewise. There are a ton of threads about this already. This is a pretty universal issue. You can restart your client a million times and occasionally get past this point but odds are then you'll just be faced with an inability to get the NA/EU server list. :/

Would be amazing to think 'ill just pop on for an hour" and not have an hour of trying to log on its getting so frustrating, can only make excuses like its still new for so long

My day:

1) Wake up.. got ready.. nothing to do for 2 hours
2)login to FFXIVARR
3)2002 -- probably 1017 anyhow so lose-lose.
4)Play WoW instead for a bit.. *sigh*
5)Try again, still issues.
6)Pissed now.

isnt it great 3 days of unusable start button and annoying error 5009 the looby has encountered an error....all my brain hears is the lobby had concocted an excuse to close so try it again
