    Don't just fix the game, 30 days free or risk no one who's not a diehard fan of FF...

    I think FF needs to not only apologize for such a horrible launch, but show their customers how sorry they truly are. Personally speaking, when you pay for something and it doesn't work there is usually a refund, or if you'd like to try and replace the item there's usually compensation. To make sure this game survives I highly suggest 30 days free for all users, and here's why. People have already heard how bad 1.0 truly was, so in their "Brand new FFXiV" launch it failed obviously. This is the 2nd FFXiV and it's already off to a very bad start. I do not care what people say about other mmorpgs. That's now how you manage a business, you strive for excellence or else your fate is sealed in failures, not only has this been the worst launch I've seen, there's still no solutions a week in. I Cannot understand how all of these things were not thoroughly checked. These are simple steps that every Mmorpg goes through. 5,000 people to 1 server? 25 servers? How the hell did they expect this not to happen. I think this game will fail by nov. Especially if something isn't done to help out people who preorder, and their loyalists. Eventually people will say screw this and never look back, especially if they have to pay yet again for something they already have. This is my thoughts.

    Free 30 days, it would be nice but it is not needed. The fact that they're giving us 7 free days is enough imo as long as whatever they do next week properly addresses the problem. This launch is a rough one and I do feel like they should have put A LOT more time into making sure their servers were ready for launch. Phase 4 should have atleast lasted another week so they can really stress test.

    Oh well what is done is done.

Since its only been a week since launch they are giving us that week back as free. not to take away from our already free 30days for buying hte game. i think thats really fair. those that had early access should get 14 free days.

    also they do have a solution and in the works of fixing it for the past week. installing new hardware new servers upgrading current servers and data centers...... do you not read stuff before you go on a QQ rant?

    7 free days, but probably only to current "active" accounts. Those of us who created a second service will get screwed again. I've been trying to get my account fixed since I entered the code on Wednesday without luck. SE NA is on a 3 day holiday weekend and not fixing our accounts... so mine will still be inactive when they grant the free time.

    If you guys want a game with a strong community i highly suggest doing this, or else people will get word of mouth and not even bother trying the game. Yet again, another day, and more errors. This is a horrible way to start off a game, and I really don't think they have any solutions for this as of right now i think they're just blowing smoke. This is pathetic that they never even though of having an afk kicker, not to mention a total of only 25 servers at 5,000 capacity. it was a recipe for disaster. it's horrible. Free transfers are a must for everyone playing on a JP server. The "7 days free" were because of everyone investing in 1.0 and it failing. Not because of this god awful launch, there has to be compensation or this game will never take off.

    I agree with the OP. I know this is going to be the target of a lot of rage, but in all honesty, seven free days is literally the least that SE can do. By that, I mean those people claiming that they want to bring a class-action suit against SE, while premature, are technically correct because legally, they were promised 30 free days to play this game, and were sold something that differed from the product that was advertised (since they could not play for all 30 days). Please note, the small clause in the ToS will not cover a loss of seven whole days in any US court of law. By giving 7 free days, SE is making up for the days in which players could not access the servers, and avoiding a lawsuit.

    Their actions, from my humble perspective, are nothing more than an attempt to avoid a legal repercussions. If they actually cared about the players, they would not simply seek to make up for the time that people have lost, but make an effort to improve customer support, to provide more servers for North Amercan and Europe, or to take the initiative to make up for the treatment of their non-Japanese player bases. They don't need to give players anything. They just need to take responsibility for this unprecedented launch with more than empty words of apology.

    *Edit* Please no WoW comparisons. That was 10 years ago. The resources and knowledge available have greatly improved since then. Please make your comparisons to a more recent game.
