All worlds maint (Sept.3rd) ~ Tomorrow

Question. Are they just adding new worlds or expanding how many users can login to current worlds? Adding new worlds won't help if people who already created characters stay on that world. If I have a character on an existing world, and no one transfers, will there be 1017s after maintenance (assuming they accomplish what they set out to achieve)?

They haven't said. I'm hoping for the usual long, detailed post by Yoshi-P to come out around the time of maintenance. They won't make announcements until they finalize the details, and obviously SE knows that the current worlds are beyond capacity for number of players.

My guess is that either the changes will add some capacity, or that adding new servers is only the first part of the plan.

It's funny how American's always think everyone's out to get them! Japanese Developer wants to work on a big issue from the start of their work day at 9 am to the end at 7 pm. BIG SURPRISE. Maybe it's your fault for being on the other side of the globe? ;P

For the record I am American but I think all the Japanese bashing is getting ridiculous.

Additional servers are nice and would definitely help new players entering into the game, but for those already on populated servers, there needs to be a means to increase the sever populations of each current server. They also need a means to combat against Gil farmers/bots as they are just taking up additional resources.

That's a good point actually...I wonder if gil sellers logout, it's rife with them...

The announcements are in the timezone you set when you sign up for an account, just need to login and check the lodestone main page. EU don't really suffer anything from this maintenance as it goes from midnight till 10am so gives everyone a chance to get a good nights sleep! Even Japanese suffer more than us. I honestly don't really care for NA though seeing the state of these forums, and I know the majority are decent people but seriously I wouldn't blame SE for not caring when half the NA players on here slate their game every chance they get.

we're all not like that, i will admit alot of ppl in NA have an entitlement complex and think they deserve whatever it is they want right now simply because they want it right now. imo it's completely the fault of the parents of this latest generation babying the hell out of these kids and letting them do whatever they want but that's another discussion entirely... but anyways we're not all douchebags XD
