I can't believe I'm saying this, but yay, maintenance! Here's crossing my fingers that it will go well.

I am somewhat concerned that this won't help the super packed existing servers though. At most times there are simply so many people everywhere (esp. in certain hub areas/cities) that I can't imagine allowing even more people on, duty finder working or not. Server capacity aside, there is only so much "space" in the game world, you know?

Question. Are they just adding new worlds or expanding how many users can login to current worlds? Adding new worlds won't help if people who already created characters stay on that world. If I have a character on an existing world, and no one transfers, will there be 1017s after maintenance (assuming they accomplish what they set out to achieve)?

Lol. Way to go Square ! A maintenance right on the peak hours for NA/EU. Now we know what to expect: Priority on their JP players. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if us, NA/EU players, would be experiencing the same issues as soon as the maintenance is over...

And this surprises you why? Been this way since FFXI a decade ago

Additional servers are nice and would definitely help new players entering into the game, but for those already on populated servers, there needs to be a means to increase the sever populations of each current server. They also need a means to combat against Gil farmers/bots as they are just taking up additional resources.

The announcements are in the timezone you set when you sign up for an account, just need to login and check the lodestone main page. EU don't really suffer anything from this maintenance as it goes from midnight till 10am so gives everyone a chance to get a good nights sleep! Even Japanese suffer more than us. I honestly don't really care for NA though seeing the state of these forums, and I know the majority are decent people but seriously I wouldn't blame SE for not caring when half the NA players on here slate their game every chance they get.

I hope the maintenance will solve every log in issues, if not i'll just be patient (more than i already am ) until it is eventually fixed. Im not one of those whining idiots insulting SE, when you know they're obviously trying their best to fix these issues.

Correct if im wrong, but NA/EU server are not in Canada? so makes sense. Remember a server is a physical thing also, not just software.
