I'm not sure if this has been asked already or answered in some other capacity somewhere else but does anyone know whether they drop in dungeons or is there an endgame npc that sells them? (I've been hearing talk of "tombstones") I've been drooling over the pics of the Monk version :P

No intention of rushing to endgame just to get them because I'm loving this game so far, just curious

Well, you can get tomestones from a lot of the higher level dungeons. For example, I'm pretty sure Dzemael Darkhold or Stone Vigil (?) drops them. Additionally, hard mode primals drop a few as well. However, the two level 50 story mode dungeons called Castrum Meridianum and the Praetorium seem to pass out the most tomestones at the end. Personally, I just farm Castrum Meridianum repeatedly. It gives 100 tomestones per completion.

Then you take the tomestones to the merchant standing next to Rowena (sp?) in Camp Revenant Toll (sp?). It's just beyond the Central Coerthas (sp?) Highlands. Head south/southeast within the camp and you'll see the three female NPCs standing in one of the tent looking things.

Edit: You DO need to be high level to wear them (probably 50! Can't remember).

Ah I see thank you for the reply I'll definitely look into that once I hit and get a feel for end game content. I have seen players state that you should save your tomestones for the "relic reborn" quest first so you can get your jobs relic weapon. Think you have to buy an item to repair your "broken relic weapon" or something.
