Lack of end-game? Maybe you just aren't interested in what the end-game is? Do the primals (all 3) to get geared up, run Wanderer's/Amdapor to get geared up, after you beat the primals, go to Bahamut...considering no one has finished Bahamut (let alone 95% of people can't even go there yet), stop complaining
