I was in the US military, we never once went over to another country to directly help them after World War 1. World War 1 was the last time that the US helped another country out of the goodness of it's heart. World War 2 we got into after we caused the Manchurian incident and cut Japan off of the natural resources that we ourselves promised them at the end of World War 1. Korea and Vietnam wars were all about stopping the spread of communism, not helping the people. Gulf War was about stopping the burning of middle eastern oil wells, and the current war in the Middle East is about revenge for 9/11. The United States has not on it's own gone out to help anybody in almost 100 years. Yes, there are independent charities such as the Red Cross that go out and try to help, but they are not a part of the United States government.

On your first post, the US is not the most important country in the world and it never has been. We're no different than any other country aside from the US trying to police the world. The people of the US are (in general) extremely self righteous and greedy. That's the way it is everywhere, not just in the US. All I did was say that we're no better than the rest of the world. On another note, going by the likes, people are agreeing with me.
