PvM(p) Dungeon – new game mode
I personally would think it would be awesome if there were a fun dungeon with challenging and intelligent Mobs.
I was thinking and had some idea:
There could be a shaman NPC in every city or some special location.
Visiting the shaman you can play a new game mode. Shaman would give you a drink that will put your body in a stasis and your mind in a dream state.
But what really would happen is this:
While your character is lying around at the shamans house you are being transferred to a dungeon and you take control of a Monster/Creature. The process needs to be very simple, you do not get to choose or name the monster, also you will not be able to communicate with people other than those who play monster too. (they would see some weird , unreadable font)
Basically you would get a dungeon where instead fighting NPC you would fight Mobs controlled by other players.
To make it more interesting and to prevent exploitation, while in monster mode the names of all normal player characters are distorted and they have no means to know who exactly is controlling the mobs. Player cannot communicate with the mobs, only fight.
The mobs probably should be weaker than the player characters, and for controlling the mobs people should get rewards based on how much damage they could deal and so on.
If there are not enough or no one controlling the mobs then they will be controlled by the game AI just as the regular mobs.
- Playtime should be limited and every time you die you have the option to assume a new mob or transfer back to your character.
- You cannot leave the dungeon while controlling the mob
GMs could spend their time there if not needed for other tasks and I am sure many people would welcome the chance to play the mode so it should be busy.
There could be some games held at the dungeon, events, tournaments and such…
