    I contacted Square Enix Customer Support, and their answer makes no sense at all.



    I edited out my personal Information.

    Basically, I am one of the many people that accidentally added their game (In my case Collectors Edition) to the wrong service account.

    I also added a standard copy of the game to my main account (with my character on it) so I could keep playing while SE sorted out this thing via email.

    I heard people having success through live chat, so I had a go.

    Now basically, SE is incapable of deleting Service 2 (my accidental CE account) and granting CE items to Service 1 (where my character is)

    Instead, their option to fix it is for me to simply buy a Digital Upgrade for Service 1.

    The Support was reluctant to tell me anything else, other than it's policy.

    Someone please explain this nonsense to me? Do I seriously have to give SE yet more money instead of them just taking the easy route of deleting service 2 from my account, and granting me a Digital Upgrade to my Service 1 account?

    I really don't know where else to go with this...

    I contacted Support again, as I had my doubts about it.

    TL;DR, first Support Person effectively lied to me. SE Support really need to get their act together. Really the most diabolical service, but in the end all was sorted through perseverance.

    Yeah. They totally can't just change it for you...for sure.

    Did this happen when they asked for that other registration code for the second time like 3 days later for no reason at all but to confuse the crap out of everybody?

    Yeah.

    Sorry dude. That really sucks.

    On the upside thought, you seem to have found the ability to chat with them online. Most people just use that phone number that doesn't work.

    Oh man their responses just get more and more Engrish as the convo goes on, too... sorry but I laughed a little bit.

    I know it sucks dealing with customer support right now but your best bet would probably be to just try again and hope you get someone more competent next time around. It's the same with most customer service people. There's always going to be a chance that you deal with someone who has no idea what they're doing or what's going on, but that doesn't mean that their answer is final.

    Glad I didn't try buying a new game... and decided to wait on CS might take me longer to get it fixed but it would only cost me the purchase of one game.

    He got the EU CS their the competent ones, if he was NA he would be waiting till tomorrow to get a hold of them.

    I don't wanna be rude or anything but I did the same as you but put the collectors edition on the correct account. I know there website was a bit confusing but other people managed to make sure they did the correct thing you can't really expect them to give you something that's worth money when this is your fault to begin with. If you buy something from a store and lose it or use it for the wrong purpose its not there responsibility to change this. It was your responsibility to make sure the account was set up correctly the first time. Sorry if this seems rude but there are a lot of people blaming SE for things that are user error not SE's

    I am not asking them to give me something I do not already own. I am asking them to effectively Delete Service 2 where my CE is, and grant me a Digital Upgrade on Service 1 where my character is. I do not see how that is them giving me something worth money for free, when I have already paid for the CE.

    SE knows they made a mistake with their website, or they would not have changed their website and removed the other button.

    I agree with you on the fact it was his fault for going and buying a new game, but you most likely didn't see how bad the layout was before release...
