Once you have done all your quests you will sit between 200-250k GIL.Repairs on high level gear is damn expensive around 2k-3k for a half broken full set.

Honest question here because i don't know..
Would having the appropiate DoH (say, armorer for a PLD) and getting the Dark Matters with Grand Company seals be more cost efficient than just repairing at the NPC? Since most of the gripes seem to be coming from repair costs..
With the current situation of huge zergs chasing FATEs around most zones, the easiest way to make money is simply chase FATEs around in a FATE party for a few hours. You'll get a lot of XP that way too, you'll get Grand Company seals you can exchange for gear without spending gil, and you'll get some moderate amount of gil. A person can probably pile up 1,000 gil from FATEs in an hour or so of chasing them around with the zerg.
Don't just buy mats - level a gathering class.
In my very veryyyy personal opinion the reason why this game is so Freaking hard to make cash is bc is so dang easy to lvl a craft or a disciple of the land class and people can farm there own mats easy to me at lease those class should be time consuming class to lvl i seen friends on my ls already 40s on both of this class and they start playing on EA
I really really don't understand this. You don't need to level a crafting/gathering class to make enough gil to get by. If you only wish to lvl DoM/DoW you still need to do the same basic thing as crafters and gatherers. You need to take some time to work out which activities will make you most gil. Just as a crafter needs to see what gear the DoM/DoW will want to buy in order to make a profit, you need to see what mats the crafters will want to buy in order to make some gil. Whacking things with a sword can make you very good money. Diremites drop web which crafters need, sheep drop fleece etc.
Don't expect the gil to come your way as a byproduct of playing your DoM/DoW, the DoH/DoL work at making gil and so must you.
Thanks for that tip. From a crafters perspective the market demands lies in two fairly easy to farm mobs.
Hippogryffs and Ornery sheep in Coerthas and Mor Dhona, if you are doing the 40-50 FATE train in either of these areas make sure you kill these two mobs in between fates.
The NQ skins might not sell for much but HQ skins sell for alot (25k per on Sarg atm)
Just bought all HQ skins for an average price of 1200. Going to resell 'em when the demand is high and the price raises
Success is measured in blood; yours or your enemy's
Very good points. I think the hard part for many is that they do not know what and where to farm. It does take a bit of market research and looking online to find out where to get what you decide what you want to farm.I really really don't understand this. Making money from other players is not an issue. I have been selling materia for plenty. The issue is, once again, where does new gil come from once all the people buying up the stuff on the AH runs out of money.
No, sorry you misunderstood me as I didn't specify.. I have made 190k since EA from selling stuff to npc/markets. My 2nd night after going to bed and waking up I had 120k, however I am on a legacy server so that could have a lot to do with it. There will be new gil coming in the game from other players completing their quests , running dungeons/fates and also npc generate gil , it might not be much but they do. You won't be able to have 10's of millions so easy as we did in 1.0. You have to be wiser about how you spend your money , don't teleport willy nilly all over when you could ride a boat, or a mount. Don't repair high lvl sets at npc, use your crafter or another crafter who will do it for less. and FARM FARM FARMI have personally made over 250k since EA. The issue is that most all that gil comes from quests you can only do once or one time bonuses. The question is where does the gil come from at level 50? If the only real source of new gil in the game is from turning in HQ lvl 50ish craft leves then I believe that is an issue.
