    Nope, I'd never do it. Won't even explain why. Now a goblin, thats another story, but probably shouldn't be in game.

    I wouldn't mind having qiqirn and goblins as a playable race but I'd never play as one. Plus there would be the need to split them up into warring tribes to justify being able to kill your own kind in the game world.

    Side switching if I remember was a little feature they added for the goblins in beseiged in FFXI where they were supposed to switch sides to whoever was currently winning. This would be nice to have in FFXIV against the empire.

    One more thing about playable races. If they were able to just grab FFXI's races, place them in a different world/lore and rename them, then surely they'd have no trouble doing the same for Ivalice's races.

    Current Description

    The Qiqirn look, for all intents and purposes, like rats. They are known to have tremendous appetites, which they will sate by feeding on nigh anything -- from rotten meat to hot trash. More than once I've taken one to the Phrontistery, only to have it steal away to the storerooms and gorge itself on medicines until its stomach burst or its heart stopped or some such ridiculousness. All the same, they are exceedingly clever things. They know their numbers as well as any scholar, and have a gift for merchant trade, as well. The Phrontistery even employs some to keep their books. In fact, there's a funny story about that. For no more than a dodo egg, the gluttonous things will even let me stick a-- Oooh! Nevermind that last part."

    New Lore
    Recently the City-State of Sharlayan has seen a increase of Qiqirn in the city, and they have seen how beneficial the Qiqirn are to the economy. So as a means of putting conflict with the Qiqirn aside and trying to bring peace between this small pack of Merchants the City-State of Sharlayan has offered a treaty to the Qiqirn to be acknowledge as part of there community. However the Qiqirn have never been known to Pick Sides they usually stick with whoever they believe will land them a fortune, so while some have decided to accept the city state offer, others have chosen to remain freelancers. Consequently the new Grand companies have requested all the help that they can find due to the recent rise of the Garlean Empire, so as a result many Qiqirn have decided to join the ranks of the Grand companies due to the rare items they hope to find from the empire.

    Clans
    Here are my ideas of the Qiqirn Clans
    -Mercenary Qiqirn-The normal Qiqirn that have accepted the treaty.
    -Bluefang Qiqirn-Blue in color, are from the the cold mountains of ???.

    Race Bonuses
    I think to make the race choices a bit more useful maybe they should add some race traits every 10 levels. Here some ideas for race Traits. (They are unlocked by physical level) (There main role is to give a reason for a race and not just make it for the image) (When a trait has max next to it, it doesn't stack but overwrites the weaker version making equipping both versions useless.)

    Qiqirn
    -Bargainer (Physical Level 1)10% discount on all NPC prices
    -Master artisan (Physical Level 10)10% exp bonus on Discipline of Hand
    -Master Farmer (Physical Level 20)10% exp bonus on Discipline of the land
    -Hoarder (Physical Level 30)Increases bag by 5 (Total 5)
    -Savager (Physical Level 40) Increases Drops by enemies
    -Hoarder II (Physical Level 50)Increases bag by 10 (Total 10) (No stacking)

    Elezen
    -restrain (Physical Level 1)During out of combat TP goes down 10% slower.
    -Solider (Physical Level 10)10% exp bonus on Discipline of war
    -Tactician (Physical Level 20)you use 10% less TP & MP when using a skill
    -Farshooter (Physical Level 30)Increases Range of magic & range attacks.
    -Soilder II (Physical Level 40)15% exp bonus on Discipline of war (15% total) (No stacking)
    -Restrain II (Physical Level 50))During out of combat TP goes down 20% slower.

    Hyur
    -Jack of all trades (Physical Level 1) All classes gain a 5% exp bonus.
    -Rejuvenation (Physical Level 10) When sitting down you recover 5% faster
    -Master Chemist (Physical Level 20) All potions are 10% stronger
    -Master Chef (Physical Level 30) All foods are 10% stronger
    -Rejuvenation II (Physical Level 40) When sitting down you recover 10% faster (Max10%)
    -Jack of all trades II (Physical Level 50) All classes gain 10% exp bonus. (Max 10%)

    Lalafell
    -Mana Master (Physical Level 1) increases MP by 25%
    -Wizard (Physical Level 10)10% exp bonus for the Discipline of magic
    -Rejuvenation (Physical Level 20) When sitting down you recover 5% faster
    -Wizard II (Physical Level 30)15% exp bonus for the Discipline of magic (Max 15%)
    -Tactician (Physical Level 40)you use 10% less TP & MP when using a skill
    -Scholar (Physical Level 50)your Magic is 5% stronger

    Miqo'te
    -Quick Runner (Physical Level 1)Out of combat running speed is increased by 5% removed if attacked.
    -Priest (Physical Level 10)10% bonus to healing Magic
    -Quickfighter (Physical Level 20)Recovers Stamina 10% faster.
    -Priest II (Physical Level 30)15% bonus to healing Magic (Max15%)
    -Quick Runner II (Physical Level 40)Out of combat running speed is increased by 10% removed if attacked. (10% max)
    -Quickfighter II (Physical Level 50)Recovers Stamina 15% faster. (Max15%)

    Roegadyn
    -Meateater (Physical Level 1)Can eat raw meat
    -Bloodtank (Physical Level 10)Increases Vit by 25%
    -Master Chef (Physical Level 20) All foods are 10% stronger
    -Solider (Physical Level 30)10% exp bonus on Discipline of war
    -Warmage (Physical Level 40)10% bonus to magic when being used as a Discipline of the war Class.
    -Berserker (Physical Level 50)every debuff increases your damage by 5%.

    Um, you can already kill lalafells, elves, hyurs, and miqo'te. The only race I haven't killed so far is the Roegadyn.

    SE doesn't have to justify squat! Squat, i say. It's called roleplay. You want to play a friendly Qiqirin or a friendly Amal'ja, then you should be able to roleplay one.

    And by the way, Goblins never attack unless attacked, so technically we're the villains here, not the Goblins.

    Also, I think implementing more races than the ones we've already got would just get out of control, so forget everything I just said!
