I think it is ok. They didn't need to give it either. Anybody who's played an mmo at it's launch know that this always happens, it always takes 1 to 2 weeks at least until the servers run smoothly.

@Drakan
I don't mean to be rude but what about the consumers that have not played an MMO launch? Surely SE are looking to attract new players and customers, it's been stated in several Letters from the Producer. I'm really happy the game is doing so well and hopefully the general populous is satiated with compensation of 7 days + 1 free transfer, but that is a bare minimum offer.
The editor/PR person behind Yoshi didn't do a great job by using the word CONSIDERING giving 7 days. The rest of the statement was spot on, but omitting that word would have been better.
FF14 1.0 was my first experience of an MMO launch. I left. Totally different set of circumstances for ARR, I know.
Such a shame that this game is so amazing but the concurrent connections wasn't projected correctly. Maybe because sharing NA/EU means the servers are always on Prime Time. Perhaps a dedicated EU centre would have resolved this earlier?
I have my fingers crossed for Wed cause I am loving this game!
I agree that the 1 free transfer is not enough. They should stop the cheap thinking and let us move about freely for a month to make up for the crash they created on release.
