From what I understand - splitting the way DF works will cut the load on the na/eu datacenter. This was written in the same notes I thought.

I see mentioned DATA CENTER capacity yes but how does that help SERVER CAPACITY which is why we are all getting 1017 and 2002 or do you think people will go well sod the last 2 weeks of work let's start ALL OVER AGAIN.
OP you are over reacting a tad bit it seems, you know they are also increasing the server cap too so that more people can you know actually play, i also suspect we will see an initial version of the auto afk kick system, after all if you are introducing new servers you would normally get them up and running and fully tested and then bring the game down for 2-3 hours, this 10 hour downtime is likely to include a lot of other systems to get people into the game and to get afk'ers out of the game.
and who uses the term 'toon' nowadays anyways?

Perhaps we should wait and see what they do instead of jumping down everyones throats and making assumptions.. Just saying is all.
I was around for the start of the MMO era and I feel the complete opposite, sorry. Calling someone a spiteful subhuman for not liking your concept is kind of the pot calling the kettle black. I have never even heard of the word "Toon" until the end of Everquest..
Anecdotal evidence stating that you never heard the term doesnt mean much in the face of a thread full of people who have.
You seem to know very little about how the servers are structured, each world is made up of multiple servers (a farm), theoretically all they need to do to increase the capacity of the worlds is configure new servers and add them to the farms.
We reffer to worlds as servers, but there are multiple servers as part of a world, so when they say they are increasing the capacity of the datacenters they will probably be adding new worlds, whilst increasing the capacity of the existing worlds as well.
Were in the maintenance note dose it say there increasing world loads please show us.OP you are over reacting a tad bit it seems, you know they are also increasing the server cap too so that more people can you know actually play, i also suspect we will see an initial version of the auto afk kick system, after all if you are introducing new servers you would normally get them up and running and fully tested and then bring the game down for 2-3 hours, this 10 hour downtime is likely to include a lot of other systems to get people into the game and to get afk'ers out of the game.

here is the notes for maintenance on the 3rd offical notes
Op i think you should add the notes to your original post since no one seems to read the topic after that or have actually looked at what the maintenance notes say.
It's classic SE.
The wording may imply that increasing the Data Capacity will increase Server Capacity, but then again, it may not.
Until enough people complain about clarification, they'll leave us in the dark.
Welcome to your new MMO life.![]()
