Have they given a reason as to why there is no queue?

Not complaining or anything. Just asking. I've tried searching and couldn't find anything on it. Does anyone know if SE has made a statement on why there is no queue? Or AFK timer, for that matter. I've seen a few people say they don't have a queue because the servers are too full, but that logic is so backwards I just don't want to believe it.

I think it has to do with the influx of people putting stress on the servers along with SE placing limitations on the worlds so they won't crash. Too much for a queue.

There is a queue, they have just limited the amount of people who can queue. Basically rather than have 300+ people at a time queuing up to get into the server they have limited it to only 40-50. If there is no space in the queue you will get the wonderful server is full message.

The small queue is pretty quick and sometimes you will load in straight away as you wont notice its there.

This is meant to reduce the load on the log in server as to not have *rough guess* 16000 people trying to log into the servers during peak times (54 servers full queue of around 300) instead it drops it down to about 2500-3000 people.

I believe there is a Q and a 1017 error, I have seen both. I have no idea why we never 100% get into the Q but there is a Q just 1017 seems to be ten-goaling it lmao.

If i can get past 1017, there is normally a small queue that I get through in about 2 min or so. The problem is getting past 1017. The worlds being full and the restrictions are the larger cause for seeing 1017 and thus no queues.

the queue is actually about 1000 players long i been in spot 789 before. got to about 112 turned around and said sorry bud the world is full you not going get on this weekend at all! Here i am Monday morn 8:00am (GMT+) and still getting server full! So i take now we just cant play at all.

I have been in the Queue a few times. I honestly have had little issue logging in a few 1017's but with a litter hammering i get in within 15 minutes. usually dumped in a queue of around 30. I feel sorry for the others honestly but this issue is scheduled to be resolved Wednesday with an additional week of game-time being given as compensation.

I notice allot of the people complaining are level 30 + on non legacy servers so they obviously got on for some extended period of time to get that far at least, i feel allot of them blow it out of proportion.

Logged into Odin just fine no queue or anything i must say there may just be an issue with your character/server. Im glad i didn't roll on the more overly populated servers (Moogle)

Right, there is a queue. They just don't have it on all the time. I guess what I meant is why are they turning it off and on when it seems to make more sense to just leave it on. And I agree it's a total kick in the arse to actually get into it and still get 1017.

I don't see any possible way it could be reducing the stress on the login servers to have players essentially DDOSing the server instead of just queuing people. Also, one of my successful login attempts was with "People in queue: 494," so it's not exactly a tiny queue, either. . .
