Gold spamming Whispers and Reporting

Right, I've Litteraly just had 5 gold spam whispers over the past 2 mins (I kid you not). I'm on the ps3 version, not only on the ps3 version is it a pain in the behind to add to your blacklist I also cannot find an trace of a report button. Why is such an integral part of a game hidden? And why can't I report by clicking their name?

Oh and just so you know, as I was typing this I got another one.

Oh and while adding the to masses of blacklisted bots THE PS3 VERSION DOESN'T ALLOW SYMBOLS!! How is this system so broken! I don't even care, bot in Limsa lominsa called B'raemha Banhi (please just ban it) and I tried to enter its name, chat pad wouldn't allow it so I went for the on screen keyboard, entered it. As soon as I left the on screen keyboard it REMOVED the symbol...now I can't add this person. FIX YOUR BROKEN SYSTEM! Oh and 10 gold selling whispers now.

The add to block list features is exactly the same way useless on PC - TYPING the stupid "asfdhasjk hasfjsdfklj" names MANUALLY to the block list instead of simply clicking on the name in the chat log or on screen is the most idiotic solution I've seen so far and should be changed as I don't bother anymore to write those creeps down first and then add them manually all the time (and I'm sure I'm not only one with that) plus you have only 200 spots on the list anyway so you'll run out of space shortly ...

In regards of "symbols" - which ones do you mean exactly? The only symbol (non-alpha character) which can be used in the names is the apostrophe (') and that works just fine on PS3 for me.

Report function is under system menu right column / top option / last tab. You'll fill up form with all the details and send it away. Please note that currently there is known (confirmed by devs to being fixed) issue where other tabs in support option will not populate / load data.

For the PC, it is easier then you think. Right click their and select "tell", it will automatically fill the chat box with "/tell xxxxxx xxxxxx" From there you can highlight their name and hit CTRL+C to copy. Then open the blacklist and hit CTRL+V to paste it.

YOu can do that on PS3 too, it's just much more difficult, lol.

I play on the PS3, and i can help you with this.

Hit start, scroll all the way to the right, select support desk, hit r1 to get to the third tab, select the one that says cheating on it, and report from there.

Also, you can add symbols, it's best if you use keyboard to do so though.

You can indeed copy / paste on PS3 too and thanks for the tip of using the Tell trick (silly me I've not though of that myself) however it's still stupid to need to use such workarounds instead of having the direct Add to block list option in both Right Click menus in chat and Examine options.

true, an option that says "add to blacklist" when you click the name should be included, along with a report option.

I don't even know if it's possible, But I'm close to just wanting to turn off tells, andjust have everyone contact me via the linkshell we have together.

Also, I never have gil seller issues on hyperion, only when i play on phoenix.

thanks for the tips here, i had only two instances of a spammer gil seller on the server i was on before i lost access ..but it was very unpleasant as they posted in YELLOW ..how do they do that? i thought chat was all one colour. Anyway, thanks for the help and I hope these creeps all get banned fast.

Is there even any point in adding them to the blacklist? So far I never received a tell from the same player twice, likely because they do get banned pretty fast.
