No class can queue for anything other then what they are, DD, Tank, healer. However, Archanist, has two different paths it can take for jobs, Summoner and Scholar. Archanist and Summoner queue up as DPS, but Scholar queues as a healer. Thats the closest you'll get.
The reason for this though, is that unlike most other MMOs, one character can learn all classes and all jobs, thus YOu simply need change your class or job to queue as something else.
Hope this helps you.
BRD is supposed to be DPS/support (not sure how though without cure now and situation songs?)
THM/ACN/SMN are DPS but can support party through heals
Can always run as archer which has access to CNJ as well. My archer has raise, cure and protect from CNJ available to it as a backup(and I have used it when the tank was getting extra beat upon). I'll play BRD myself but I'll probably be doing more with archer. The support is just better imho.
Summoner is the hybrid class. Since both of them comes from arcanist class, when you level 1 of job, you also level the other job.
Equip smn soulstone if you want to dps and equip scholar soulstone if you want to heal. Both will level at the same time because both classes have arcanist as their base class
That doesn't really make summoner a hybrid class though, does it? It's still only a DD. Summoner and scholar are two different jobs, regardless of what base class they come from.
Scholar seems to be somewhat of a hybrid though. At least in full parties when there's also a white mage, I could see them mainly using their DoTs while the fairy takes care of healing.
I think Bard is the only real dps/support class. Summoner mostly has Dots/Debuffs.
the Red Mage is coming soon..
