There's a "!" mark out of bounds west of the Botanists' Guild in Gridania.

If you look on this picture I took, on the map in the upper right corner, there's a Quest Icon mark signifying there's a quest out of bounds.

Could anybody be kind enough to confirm they see it too? Hopefully I'm not crazy and seeing things.

I have seen this too. I would like confirmation. I believe its in the zone of Gridania we can't get into because they say its for those "born in Gridania" only. BTW I'm bummed I wasn't born in Gridania :/, give me Kazham lol. This ! has bugged me :/

hehe, I was just hunting through the forums trying to see if anyone else had noticed this before I posted it.

Could someone confirm Zavier's comment about it being for players "born in Gridania"? And if it is only for those who started in Gridania are there equivalent quests in Limsa and Ul'Dah?

Edit: Just realised it's the NPC beside the gate that says that area is only for "forestborn Gridanians" to enter which basically means we are all screwed because we didn't come from Gridania but rather journeyed there on foot... he does say that access is restricted "under normal circumstances" though. It may be that a sidequest will unlock it and we can only see the icon now because we are already of a high enough level to have unlocked the quest

I was wondering about that icon too.

Is anyone game enough to start a new character in the gridania story line to see if you can check it out while the kids are teaching you how to "dance" for the festival? That's the only time I can recall going down there.

That area can be accessed during one of the Botanists Guild quests but I did it a while ago so I have not seen any way to reach the !

I've seen this too. My hometown is in Grid, but theres no way for me to reach the "!" mark. I believe it appeared after I accepted the quest from the guy at the gate there.

I have see this and i started in Gridanina. I thought that i would be able to enter later the game but it must be a mistake that they didn't take out.

One of the first Gridania story quests (the one where you have to use emotions) has you go through that gate, its a bit odd they would put it somewhere the majority can't get at it.

Even more bizarre that the gate can't be opened via the menu.

Check the Conjurer's guild. It loops up around like that on the map.
