It the power of the word of mouth. The game is fun for those that are able to play the game . For those that are unable to play the game, or unable to play there character. Will be just as vocal. Biggest flaw in the game is not the server problems. They already have address that issue to many of us. It The fact they got the worst customer service system in place in the world. To the point down the road. It will become if some one not helping you that is final fantasy service. That the Final sale enjoy it.

Yet I played on ffxi for 10 years. i got the dreaded 2 accounts created from the psn digital download version. Been trying get it fixed since 8/26. not going to re roll a character , and be unable to play with my friends.

White knighting only proves to harm a game more than anything else. It's cool if you love something but don't be blind to obvious problems, because ALL GAMES have them. Refusing to acknowledge them is just silly and stunts the growth of the game you love so much. If you stunt growth people will leave and the game you love so very much inevitably declines.


Generally people complain because 75% of the time there is a legit issue in the works. It may not be as bad as they say or as widespread but a problem still, and one that needs addressing. Conversely white knighting occurs 100% of the time when a problem is evident and most usually the most fanatacial when it is a problem of major importance that is widespread.

Server issues for instance, can kill this game. Yes it will eventually be addressed, suppoosedly sometime this week or the next. But many potential players won't want to necessarily wait that long. Take my current issue for instance. I find it impossible to log into the game during the day or the evening when I have the most time to play. My only recourse is late at night. Now as of late I see ridiculous amounts of lag and high latency at this time for some reason. So am I going to pay a monthly fee right now? Nope.

Servers are full all the time. There are more people playing right now than those not.
Despite any bad press, there is more people saying good about the game than bad.
It's not white knighting, it's just obvious math.

Of course there are problems. But 100 posts per day saying the same thing doesn't beat the 200,000 people who are playing and spreading word about how much they enjoy it.

There is barely any white knighting going on in this forum. People use the term to insult because it's so easy to use, and can be used against anyone who simply defends the game. Most people on here who get called a white knight are actually only stating facts or logical reasoning, but to the person complaining it's proving their rant pointless so they turn to insults - white knight.

Agree with Kyriea. I have never waited more than 45 minutes to log into FFXIV. Mostly it's 5~15 mins. I know it takes hours for some, but I'm just lucky I guess. I don't consider the server issues an affront to my existence. They suck, sure, but it happens.

The fact that I don't agree with the typical "SE is terrible yoshi is rolling around in all our money laughing at us" mentality makes me a white knight apparently.

There is far too much white knighting going on. Both on the forums and in the game. Believe me I am a diehard FF fan and will stay with the game, but the people complaining are not wrong. There are flaws with the game. And just like 1.0 they need to be heard. Unfortunately in 1.0 they were not heard until they left and spoke with their wallets because of all the white knighting. Fansites were terrible. I was banned from FFXIVcore at one point due to agreeing with a thread that said 1.0 sucked. The devs need to hear what the masses dislike so that it can be improved. Stop squashing what people have to say...
