Window switching while Mining locks out actions on PS3 resulting in force quit

I managed to log into one of my characters today after a long and tiring time getting in and went off to do some mining. While I was in the middle of a mining target and had mined one item I brought up the system config menu to adjust the gamma on my screen and when I dismissed the system config window the mining window was gone but the mining spot was still targeted and my pick was still in hand. I tried everything to dismiss the action (gear change, job change, escape, retarget, log off and exit game) but the game responded unable to complete action. I tried for a good 5-10 minutes and the action never dismissed on its own so I was forced to force quit on the PS3 and unfortunately that booted me back out and I was unable to get back in even after 2 hours of trying. I will restrain myself from complaining about the server issues but I am unable to duplicate this because of it. If anybody is on PS3 and is about to log out and could try to duplicate the issue to confirm it that would be great!
