Service accounts issue & 7 day extension, a clarification...

EDIT: please skip to, and read, post #5

We are considering including a further 7 free days of play to all currently active and dormant (legacy) FF14 accounts. We plan to begin adding these extra days once the maintenance is over. I will update the exact date and time of when the the extra days will be provided once we have finalised the plans.
I wonder if by "further" 7 days do they mean a further 7 days to a different 7 days being awarded just for the basic 1017 troubles, or wither this is the original 7 days 'further' to the 3 or so days grace after early access.

Secondly the "brackets legacy", has me worried, giving 7 days to dormant account would solve in the short term the service account problems many customers have faced, legacy and non legacy.

To those of us who fell victim to the registration wizard pointlessly opening a second service account, thus separating our characters from our actual game codes, I do hope Square Enix have the good sense to realize 7~14 free days of extra play time on our DORMANT accounts (the accounts with our beloved characters on them), would mean so many days pressure eased off of the customer support allowing them further time to get around to seeing everyone.

Really the bottom line is people are happy when they're playing. No play time; more time to complain on forums and queue tickets, and be angry.

Thus, it really matters what exactly is meant literally by "Active and Dormant (legacy)" is it legacy only? is it active, and active and dormant legacy, or what?

It really matters to those who currently are not playing because they're characters are on a dormant account and in the meantime their days are ticking by on a separate service account while they're queuing with tickets and running up huge phone bills.

    In short:
how many free days (is it 7 or 14) for legacy/non legacy?

Will those days be added to the CORRECT Service account? i.e., the dormant one with our characters on them.

Please SE, do this one right!!

I'm interpreting it as: only active accounts and legacy accounts will get the extra time. Those of us who fumbled through adding codes to our existing codes are going to get shafted for a second time. We won't get the time unless our accounts are repaired before they give out the extra time.

I really hope that is not the case,
If it is it will further prove that the policy making and marketing planning at SE are not in keeping with competence and ability of the game makers themselves. (as if that notion needed further drilling home then the amazing wonderful, beautiful game they've just created... that no one can play).

They should make it easy and just give us a month free to deal with all these issues. I refuse to include the free 30 days you get with purchase as SE giving us SOMETHING free to start (a lot of people argue that we're not paying for that 30 days period, but pretty much all MMOs have 30 days free). 30 days FREE period to work out the kinks.. then 30 days of "free" play like ANYONE would get even if they purchased the game a couple months down the road. Call it an extended Beta test, this FREE 30 days. Because honestly, that's what it feels like. It's not going to kill them to do it. It shows they care about their customers.. etc... etc.. If you treat your customers great they'll keep coming back, and that's worth way more than if you deny them initially and they end up leaving you.

But yeah, I really feel for any one that's going through all these service account, code issues, character transfer from legacy issues, etc, etc...

Other than getting into the game, everything for me been way easy. :3

To apologize to our loyal fans who may not have been able to login or create characters during early access and the days immediately following launch, the development and operations teams are currently considering providing all player accounts with an additional seven days to their free trials. This includes non-legacy players from 1.0, who will be given new seven-day free trials. Trial extensions will be awarded after the aforementioned server maintenance on Wednesday. Details on the trial extension, including the extension period, will be released in a separate post as soon as they have been solidified.
Now that I re-read this section, I feel a very encouraging irony coming on telling me that those who are suffering from the split service account problem will certainly be able to use those 7 days on their original, correct account for certain.

The only method thus far of gaining access to play time was through entering codes onto service accounts. (for beta, for EA and for the game itself)
Not only would it be very unusual for SE to dish out these 7 days through any method other then code redemption, it would be equally unusual for users to not be able to apply these days to any service account of their choosing (even accidentally to yet another, newer service account *tragic-lol*)

In a way the problem we're suffering from is proof that there is no system in place for affixing days to a particular Service account automatically and/or per common sense.

It would be really very unlikely that SE dish out these extra days in any greatly different fashion to what they did for EA or for the game itself.

Further reasoning; what good would the 7 days be to any 1.0 player if they couldn't be applied to the same service account that the Beta 4 and early access was on?
What good too, would the 7 days extra play be to any player caught still waiting for a digital copy?
    No good, that's what!

The service accounts of those groups will be identical to our "service account 1"s; characters from beta 4 & early access lying inactive.
And like those accounts I imagine all we need to do is register our codes 'properly' i.e., apply the codes in the manner we should have applied our game codes; onto our own B4/EA service accounts.

They would literally have to bend over backward to make it not work since our current inactive service accounts with our B4/AE characters in them is no different to those of the other service accounts that the 7 days extra trial is targeting.

...and bam! A week's grace to sort out the split account problem.
